Roberto Martinez?? Good god, no thanks.

You don't seriously think we could end up with him, what's more want him?

I'd sooner keep this season's Pardew for the next 8 years. Or go with Rene from 'Allo 'Allo (that's Benitez).

Roberto Martinez would have gone in front of the cameras after the the Liverpool debacle and trotted out his trademark "I thought we played well"
If you listened only to his post-match interviews and the amount of "encouragement" he gets from them, you'd think they were perennial title challengers.

At least Pardew admits we're piss poor. Oh yeah and he knows a red card challenge when he sees one...

Not so much the players... Didn't they all revolt under Blanc's leadership? Evra etc were given bans from the team weren't they?

Why on earth do people want Rafa? Has he ever done anything with little money? No. He's spent a fortune at Liverpool and he still couldn't win the league because of his squad policy. And he bought worse and worse players as well.

Clark is too young and inexperienced.

Jol is average and completely dull.

    Bilic? <yikes> No thanks.

Moyes is over-rated - he's had ten years to shape Everton and won nothing. No money? Rubbish. Everton have spent quite a bit over the years... Fellaini cost £15m alone.

Blanc? <doh> No no, non non!

Benitez, Di Matteo or Poyet for me. <ok>

Although I get the feeling they will stick with Pardew if we survive. <wah>

All look like small name managers to me that are currently in bad spells.

Poyet for me (provided Brighton don't win promotion). He's passionate which us fans love, he's served a good apprenticeship with Brighton, playing attractive football that his high tempo. I think he comes across as likeable and think our players would take more to a younger manager than someone that is a bit more old school like Pardew.

It's too big a job for Clark in my opinion, I'd quite like Laudrup but doubt he'd come to us at the moment after the year he's had at Swansea.

It's hard to discuss a possible future manager until firstly we know if we're actually in the market for one and secondly without knowing which league we'll be competing in next season.

If we got relegated and then brought in Lee Clark, even with the best intentions (which I'm sure he would have) he would take us to league 1.

IMO Sir Al must be the assistant manager, so he can learn more about being a manager, so he can manage the Toon in the future. The current Barca manager was Pep's assistant and he hasn't done too badly this season.

Not for me, an experienced assistant is vital. In my opinion Carver is just as "yes" man to Pardew. Assistant needs to be brave enough to question/challenge decisions by the manager and in order to do that they need to be of the "seen it all before" ilk to be taken seriously and have the minerals to make such challenges.
