Amazing how things have turned round. I personally blame Shaw for not clearing that Wigan equaliser!! Pretty sure Wigan are nailed on for relegation...they just have too tough a finish including an FA Cup Final. And I would back us to get more out of Spurs, Sunderland and Stoke than Sunderland will get out of Spurs, Stoke and Southampton. Really glad their thrashing has stopped them getting too confident.
Thanks, Lamballana. I am actually very relaxed. If we play as badly in the next 3 games as we did against WBA we will deserve to go down, but it won't happen. Mauricio gets " disappointed" by poor performance. This usually translates as lock up your horses. The team will be playing for their lives in the next 3 games. The thought of disappointing both Mauricio and Nicola is beyond belief.
Mauricio was 'disappointed' at half time against Liverpool...wouldn't have wanted to see him after the WBA game.
I only put half of my £20 free bet on it. The smallest part of me wonders if I should have put the whole free bet on it. But then the large, sane, part of me takes over and reminds me that we are not going to go down!
Threads like these should be banned, we are 7 points clear. If we lose our next two and Wigan win their next two then it's a time to worry. Until then you lot need to carm down.
Strangely, I was fairly laid back until you mentioned that scenario. Carm down....are you from Liverpool.
Beat Spurs this weekend and we'll hear no more of this nonsense. A worrying lack of backbone is being exhibited in some quarters. I predict 7 points from our final 3 games.
Back in early Feb I was mocked for suggesting that we should regard all our home games as winnable. Then came Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool (also QPR, but the less said about that the better).
Do you realise what you left out though..? Wigan have Arsenal and Man City AWAY as two of their remaining fixtures. If they stumble on those, they're gone. Look at the table. Even if Wigan win their game-in-hand they are still in a relegation place, so they're still favourites to go down, whether they've escaped in the past or not. But you're right with the last sentence.
I got confused with that match against City in the FA Cup as well. That may be make life hard for them...Gary Neville said how sapping playing at Wembley can be. As a side issue, I think the FA Cup Final should be at the end of the season as it used to be. I know it was moved because of the play offs, but it should be a show piece at the end of the season, not a match in a possible fixture pile up.
Absolutely..! And at 3pm. I believe it is to be played later in the afternoon, this year at 5.15pm, thoroughly inconveniencing fans travelling back north. But of course Rupert Murdoch rules, and the people who still really make the game possible, don't.
