I also thought at the time that he was at fault for (or at least could have done better with) 3 or maybe 4 of their goals. Then again, our midfield and defence allowed Liverpool to walk that close to the goal without any pressure, so he didn't exactly get any protection, by which time there's not much he can do. Looking at it again, he would need to be a superhero to have kept us in the game. So I can't single out Elliot for any blame. It was an all-round disgustingly shocking team performance. <ok>

Definitely think he could have done better with the first one. Should have tried coming off his line and give Agger some pressure.

i know what your saying m8 ..he did have nowt really for defence ...

i thought he slow and stopped stupidly for the first .. then came out when he shouldnt have, it was to late ..for the second .

the fourth he came out then stopped ( a big no no .) the borini he just flopped ..the ball was just left of his center with no pace ...and the free kick god he just fell to the ground ..

    weak ..

how badly we miss tim like ..

hope this aint the nail in the coffin .. hes got to be do better .

He didn't do too badly against West Brom but he doesn't fill you with confidence. Tim Krul he isn't.

I sorry but Eliot is crap.
    Championship at best.
His only asset is his distribution.

One question. I know Harps is leaving/retiring? but is he still being paid? Why on earth is Elliot before Harps on in the pecking order? Harps has been a solid keeper whenver called on why is Elliot our go to guy?

Think he's doing some keeper coaching.

He's retained till June so he's on the payroll till then at least.

Seems to me the club are trying to convince him he'll be a solid number 2 and pushing for first team.

I like the guy, but he's a poor goalie.

Are people forgetting the raping we got from Liverpool when Given was in goal. Doesn't matter how good of a keeper you are if the rest of the team let you down you're right up ****s creek without a paddle.

In part truth, in part Elliot himself was very poor. The Agger goal for example, I am 100% sure Krul would have saved it. Not trying to compare the two, but Elliot played very poorly, he's definitely championship quality at best, hopefully that's not where we'll be next season.

We would still have got tonked, but the lad is sub standard at this level. Listen to the wizard, he was a goalie afterall. Gandalf - we could really do with some magic right now mate, you not got any spells to sort this **** out for us??

Think we need DT to work the spells, she's the one that works them on Gandalf.

Even the sensible people have gone schizo on this board.

If I could be arsed I could pull up a 2 - 3 week old thread in which people were going on about the need for Elliot to start because Harper was past it, and another slightly older thread debating whether Krul deserved to go back into the team when he was healthy (the general consensus being that he should).

Elliot had a poor game against Liverpool, but he just suffered from the loss of confidence and judgement which started in our back 4 and radiated in all directions, affecting thos closest to it the most. Elliot has done well this season. He is not as good a Krul. He is about on a par with Harper (which is to say, unspectacularly competent) but has a future ahead of him that Harper doesn't - - therefore he has been designated the number 2 instead of Harper.

If confidence and composure is the problem, then it might be a good idea to bring in wise head Harper. That doesn't make Elliot ****.

    Christ.
