I was lucky enough to have had some cooperate tickets for the Kidderminster play off game on Sunday gone, and I cant help feeling aggrieved for them to finish a massive 13pts ahead of Wrexham and just 2pts off the title winners and still get kicked out of the chance of going up to a higher division, added to the fact that Wrexham rested their first team for two weeks in preparation for the play off games knowing they had no chance of overtaking Mansfield Town for the title anyway. It just seems a very unfair, and should be made either for the first two to go up or first three just like the old days. And just on another note remember Neil Ashton?...wow what a player he has turned out..thats one guy that give 100% I remember him plying for us and being kept out of the team by Marc Tierney, it would be well worth GT having another look at him as he dominated the midfield from start to finish and never stopped running and then putting a deft through ball for Wrexham to score ...just another name to throw in the hat.
Clearly the league needs teams who can prove their worth over a whole season....Kidderminster Clearly the idea of play-offs generates more money (and interest to end of season???)......Wrexham The piper plays the tune, take your pick. Looks like the money from just five matches wins. I feel sorry for them too! But just look what a fan-owned (?) team can do!!!
They know the rules and if they wanted them changed it is up to the clubs to do so. It happened to us when we finished loads ahead of Torquay the season before last but we have also beaten a team who finished 4th when we were 7th (MK Dons Ha Ha!!!). Ashton was a bits and pieces type player who eventually returned at full back when Tierney left. He had a woeful game against Bury in the play off 1st leg. We already have better but he will always be remembered for the free kick which Drummond headed in at Wembley.
every club on or near the marches has had time spent in the conference. this year we are beginning the rebuild of the marches and next sunday will welcome back newport county, or wrecsam. we must have hopes of welcoming chester back later. the marches are beginning to shine and shrewsbury town leads the way.
I for one would like to see these teams back were they belong in the league, lets hope the Bulls can survive from yet another financial meltdown...and I was sorry to see Telford drop out the BSP too
