Interesting article on BBC website about the relative standings of each team if they had been without their top striker this season. For all the talk of RVP making the difference at Utd, then would still be top without him. Interestingly though we would be 2nd and as for Spurs they would be 6th without Bale: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22285545

Giroud is a very poor striker. His touch is horrific, the ball often bounces off him, even his red card came from him failing to control a long ball up to him. He is not as physically imposing as he should be and is also average in the air (has only won roughly 55% of his aerial duels). He cannot shield the ball and is very easily dispossessed, on top of that he is always offside and seldom gets in the box, ruining the whole balance of our attacking trio. His passing is pathetic, 65% pass success (or something like that), it is a complete shambles, he just gives the ball away so much, either by being sloppy or attempting his lazy flicks that seldom come off. His 'great' movement is one of the greatest myths of football, he is a very static striker and is often caught on his heels when a ball is fizzed across goal or played into his path. The only run he ever makes is towards the near post, he profited from it (a bit) earlier this season but opposition managers have now worked him out. His technique is at best average, his shooting is very erratic and his conversion rate is one of the worst in the league (1 goal every 10 shots). He only ever looks good when we are 2 or 3 goals up or when we are playing a pub team, people mention his 18 goals and 10 assists this season as some sort of vindication towards his form but those stats skew the truth, the reality is is he has only scored or assisted goals in 8 premier league matches, 1 of those matches is when he tripped over the ball vs Swansea and the ball fell to Monrael for him to score. People say 'he will be better next season' and some even delude themselves into believing he has been good this season but apart from 1 week at the end of the transfer window, he has never looked an Arsenal standard striker or even a Tottenham standard striker for that matter. His suspension will be a blessing in disguise and if we get a reasonable offer for him in the Summer I would be very tempted to sell. I just don't ever see him working out at Arsenal long term. If Arsenal have any ambitions of competing for trophies next season then 2 TOP strikers are a must. I would like Jovetic and Villa but there are plenty of alternatives out there we can look at (Benteke, Remy, Gomez, El Sharaaway, Soldado, Huntelaar).
I've seen him play lots of times and he doesn't seem to be very good. I would prefer to get Cavani. I hope we sign him this summer because he is fast and powerful and can score goals and is fast.
