    THE GAME

Well a pretty drab and dull affair really. Both teams looked like they had nothing to play for and both showed exactly why they are now relegated. The best bit of the day was the banter with the Reading fans to our right in the first half hour. They sang a song, then us back at them etc.. My favourite; if your'e all going to bournemouth clap your hands, if your'e all going to bournemouth clap your hands - and both sets of fans did! A few other good songs throughout the match.

We set up in a 4-3-3 formation by the looks of it, but it never really lent itself to help us get a foothold in the game. We often found ourselves having to go out wide but no-one was there. And if there was it was often Remy, Adel or Bothroyd - meaning not enough in the box.

The banter brought a smile to everyones faces and distracted us from the football being served up. Neither side really got going early on but both did have a couple of close attempts - one from us - bothroyd chipping their keeper, and then pogrebnyak for them.

Second half much the same, both teams just going through the motions lacking the final pass to unlock the defence. And so that was it. Our two year stay in the PL is over. Half the players came over to clap the fans, the others walked straight off.

    THE RATINGS

GREEN - 6 - average really but made a couple of decent saves. Almost let one in from the pogrebnyak chance but kicking wise ok and came out to claim crosses well.

TRAORE - 6.5 - got forward well, with little end product and defended well largely. Had a tough task keeping their wingers at bay but did a decent enough job.

HILL - 7 - mopped up most of what got to him, but reading didnt really test him or green too much really. won the headers against pogrebnyak mostly aswell.

ONUOHA - 7 - played CB and looked decent. rarely troubled and made a few bursting runs forward.

BOSINGWA - 5.5 - did ok but looks like he couldnt give a damn tbh. not really breaking sweat to win balls and get decent crosses into the box but got into positions well enough.

MBIA - 3.5 - awful tbh. lost the ball far too much and often rolling around on the floor. pushed off the ball to easily.

GRANERO - 5 - just doesnt seem to ever be in control enough. easily pushed off the ball which stopped us getting a decent foothold in the game. nearly always passes sideways. free kick hit the bar.

JENAS - 6 - some nice passes and got forward well. had a couple of wayward shots but with his two other CM partners not helping an awful lot he couldnt do too much.

TAARABT - 6 - started brightly but faded, often making runs forward and linking well with the other attacking players.

REMY - 6 - linked well with bothroyd and adel but wasnt given too much good service to enable him to get shots away. a few poor touches as well.

BOTHROYD - 6.5 - won a fair few headers, a few creating openings, but also a fair few not doing much with, but put in a shift and made some nice runs down the wing etc..

    SUBS:

HOLIETT - 2.5 - shocking again. poor touches, gave the ball away loads and never really tried hard enough to get forwards or sprint back to help the defence.

MACKIE - N/A - only given two minutes! why was hoilett on before him. mackie immediately brought energy to the play and set up a couple of opportunities.

    THE FINAL WORD

Well thats it confirmed now, and tbh thank god. What a dreadful season. Summed up by todays performance lacking in any real urgency with often passes sideways and backwards not creating too many clear cut chances. And the ones we did get we wasted big time.

Our corner deliveries yet again shocking. Why cant we take a decent one!!! Every time they end up at our end of the pitch. Something that needs addressing in the summer, along with many many more things.

Going to be a hard summer, and also a hard fight next year, but thats exactly what we have lacked - fight. Imo if half of this current squad dont go we will struggle again. There isnt enough desire or willingness to play well for QPR on that pitch. Some couldn't give a second thought to the club, or the fans.

Thanks for that Judo. How many Rangers were there? Didn't look like our usual good quota on the TV?

I agree with most of that. Onuoha and Hill were both 7s for me too. I'd only have given Bosingwa 4....he was terrible and I'd have given Traoe 7 as I thought he did really well.
Granero was much improved and unlucky with the free kick......a 7 for me.
Thought Remy was a disappointing 5 and Bothroyd deserved a 7.

All in all....no fight, which sums up our season mate.

I thought we played pretty well much of the game but were let down by poor finishing. That was the worst game I seen Remy play, his poor first half was summed up when he totally missed an easy and good pass that would have put him clear at the end of the half, don't think he deserved more than a 4. Perhaps Harry got him to play that way to deter the would be buyers! Betty worked well but seems vaccinated against making runs into the box when he should be. I thought both our wing backs did very well in the absence of recognised wide men further forward, both covered a lot of ground - those that say Bosingwa is lazy are well wrong. He and Traore probably covered more ground than anyone today. Traore made some great raids, was solid at the back and was MOM for me, apart from that tacke that could easily have given Reading a pen. Bosingwa cleared off the line, calmly and accurately cleared and passed out of defense, and produced much of our attacking threat from the right side. Granero passed and controlled the game more than most have in our midfield this season, and his free kick was our best effort of the game. Jenas was soild, but his shooting like the others was woeful. Adel created but his shooting was rubbish. Hoillett was terrible when he came on, seems to have really lost it at present. I'm not convinced by Ned at CB but he and Clint just about handled an average Reading strike force. Green looked confident enough again, though his failure to get his hands to the ball that Bosingwa ended up clearing could have easily lost the game for us.

Truth is we were generally okay today - until we got forward within range. Then, same as the last couple of weeks, same as before Remi came to provide an arrow head, barring a few more bodies around, we just never looked like scoring.

Worst of all the confirmation. Despite all the crowing we've done this year, fact is we're no better than Reading.

Its actually deserved and its sad to say not for the team as a whole.. Shame that we might be losing some quality players that we have brought in. Mackie for me has been my favourite this season.. The only one that seemed to show he was doing this for the team and the fans if only the others had taken note! Lots of changes to be made in order for us to be back up in the Premiership and hopefully after next season!

Cheers for that Judo. I could only drift in and out of the game via my phone as I was at work. It doesn't seem like I missed too much.
I thought I would be more upset by today's confirmation, but I found myself more relaxed about it than I expected. An end to the pain? Probably not, Arsenal could well beat us 8-0 next week. :emoticon-0107-sweat
