Who would you expect to be in there? We've only got 1 or 2 players who've played anywhere even approaching a full season for us.
Ince has been **** for months now, don't rate Tripper and Bolasie is a load of **** too. Zaha is only there for diving
We also only have one player in Four Four Two's fifty best players in the Football League list. George Boyd. Somehow we've managed to get to second despite apparently our only decent player only joining us a couple of months ago.
Aluko would/should have been in there if he'd stayed fit. Faye also if he'd played all season. As said above, no complaints however I'd question whether Palace's front 3 should be in there?
You have to play the whole season to be involved- Aluko hasn't so rightfully hasn't been included. Just accept it.
Personally, nobody given the way the team is set-up. GK - been a problem position, and even if he's the solution Stockdale has only been here for half the season. CB - Hobbs has played half a season. Faye, Bruce, and McShane have taken it in turns to play when the other two have been injured, and Chester hasn't been brilliant this season. He's been good, but his weaknesses have been targeted more and he's not been team of the year quality. LWB - Brady arrived in November. RWB - Elmo probably would have done if the team was picked in a 532 formation. As it is he'll be classed as a midfielder and he's never going to be in ahead of Zaha on that. His recent poor form wouldn't have been included due to when the team was selected. CM - We've been chopping and changing all over the place there. Quinn is probably the only regular in there because Bruce, Evans, and Meyler have been in and out or not even at the club (Meyler) for chunks of it. AM - Koren has played a lot of ineffective games as a striker so he's not going to make the team. ST - we don't have a high scorer, Aluko probably would have been in contention if he'd played for longer. So you'd be looking at Elmo, Quinn, and Aluko (barring injury) as the only ones that would be considered. Elmo's position doesn't exist in the team of the year, and Quinn isn't the type of midfielder that gets in these teams (he's more graft than quality). Maybe Boyd could have been in, but that would be down to his time at P'boro so I wouldn't count it as our player getting in myself.
For me, it'll be the following. Schmeichel Byram Morgan Hudson Brady Ince Chalobah Abdi Bolasie Rhodes Vydra
Agree regarding Chalobah, what an absolute tank of a player - vision coming out his ears too. I'd stick Murray in for Vydra too.
Did you copy my post on your thread about a month ago? i had chalobah and abdi as my middle two when everyone else picked whittingham.. i'm just brilliant at scouting and picking up players hudson for me has been the best defender in the league.. but i wouldnt have rhodes or bolasie in there.. nor schmeichel
What thread was that? Rhodes has something like 25 league goals in a shocking squad this season. Morgan has been stunning for us, better than Hudson IMO although there isn't much to separate them. Bolasie will likely win the Palace Player of the Season, voted by their fans who rate him much higher than the "£15m" rated Zaha. Whittingham doesn't seem to have done an awful lot but this was voted by the players. Schmeichel has been ****ing incredible. We'd probably be looking at relegation without him
your player of the season thread a while back rhodes has been fantastic but i'd have austin or murray in there i agree about morgan hence why i wouldnt remove him and i prefer marshall and since schmeichel let chalobah score past him on friday he can **** off
