we might have got promoted, then would have come straight back down because we would have been well out of our depth!
Sure your're aware that all hypothetical. Not every game hes had with us has been gold, in-fact many of us were getting very frustrated at the lack of goals in Jan. However the stat that's going around that has us 4th since November did get me thinking, more in terms of next season, what the differnce in that stat would be if he didn't have to 'turn us around'. we wouldn't have had results like Leicester and Palace, that's for sure. All I want from next season, like i have done for the past 4, is a season where we are always realistic challengers for the play-off, however I think there is genuine reason to be very optimistic about our chance next season.
I doubt MM would have joined I think a lot can be credited to PJ as I think his recommendation to MM to join mustn't be overlooked. Its clear MM took on a massive task... that he didn't have too. He's mentioned PJ a couple of times and clearly spoke with him when considering the daunting job at hand and clearly PJ made enough of an impact to persuade MM that ITFC were worth a punt and not to wait around for an (ultimately on paper) better job But yeah, hindsight and blue sky thinking involved, MM would have clearly put us in the shake up right now ala Bolton
Quit already. Things happened the way they happened and probably would've gone differently in any other scenario. It is what it is and harping on about what could've been changes nothing. One stat I read earlier stands out for me....... We have let in the fewest goals in 2013, quite an achievement given the way we were shipping goals before. Mick has gone about things the proper way. 1st.......stop leaking goals and give yourself a chance of scoring at least one point. 2nd......gradually ask your players to start thinking about attacking after you've got the defensive bit sorted out.
