    Hello Toons <ok>

I was listening to the radio earlier and a Newcastle fan rung in and stated there was a rumour going round up your way that Rafa Benitez would replace Pardew at the end of the season.

Do you see this as a good move? Have you heard the rumours?

Personally I think he would be an excellent fit with you guys. Don't be put off by what that 'orrible lot from Chelsea think.

I'd take him in a heartbeat.
Plays good football and knows how to win.

We could certainly do a lot worse, but I'm not sure Benitez' policy of frequent squad rotation would work at Newcastle at the moment. We have a depth in the team now, certainly, but there's not enough quality there.

Agree with the heartbeat comment. So guess it has zero chance of happening.

I think if you stay up (I think you will) then there is a good chance he would go.

I see Newcastle as quite an attractive club to work with - big stadium, fan base and some really good players who need managing.

He'd relish the challenge of fattening you up a bit.

Look at the squad he started with at us - its had a sprinkling of top quality but lots of average too. In a few years we were a couple of points off the League, won various cups and nearly two champs Leagues, beating Real 4-0 and United away 1-4 in the same week.

Give him time and a couple of quid and think he could really sort you out <ok>

We are wretched. I'd love for him to come as he actually has talent but he won't.

What was the point in giving him 8 years? Some strong statement of commitment. Ever since then you've looked shakey.

    I'd for sure take him.
The guy is an actual manager, not some old coot with a gambling addiction. <ok>

I just don't think it would work out. The fans here are pretty demanding and would soon be on his back about rotation, playing players out of position etc. Good manager but a bad fit. I think you might as well go with someone fresher, younger like you guys did. Poyet for me.

Most teams would love to have the spanish waiter as their manager. And that is exactly why he won't be our next manager.

I would take Benitez instead of Pardew.

Trouble is, Rafa is technically proficient, but utterly uninspiring...

Benitez wouldn't be interested in coming to us - he loves Liverpool.

And Ashley wouldn't give the likes of him more than 10% of the transfer kitty he couldn't do a thing without.

If Pardew goes, go for a young hungry manager with some talent ... like Gus Poyet.
