Probably old(ish) news, but seems Laud's has finally got his man - seems the price is somewhere around £1.5 million - any thoughts? 'Spanish Website alfinaldelapalmera.com are today reporting that Real Betis midfielder Jose Canas has agreed and signed a 3-Year deal to join Swansea City this Summer. Michael Laudrup has been keen to bring in the Spaniard for some time, but a move in January was delayed - as the club preferred to wait until the Summer when his Betis contract expired. It's thought that Canas, like some of the other Spaniards in the squad, decided to join the Swans to work with manager Michael Laudrup. The Dane has proved to be an excellent attraction, having brought in the likes of Spaniards Michu, Chico and Hernandez. Thanks to Laudrup, the Swans were able to beat off the competition to win the race to capture Canas on a three-year contract. Canas is expected to be officially confirmed as a Swansea City player from July 1st.' Read more: http://www.swansea.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=317689#ixzz2RhrFBuBa
How can the price be around £1,5 mill when his contract expires in the summer? Wouldn't he be joining for free then...?

Did a profile on him a while back; http://www.theswanseaway.co.uk/2013/03/a-profile-of-swansea-target-jose-canas.html
Just hope he lives up to the hype and expectation a few have said about him on here. Could really be the final piece in the midfield jigsaw that we have been lacking for the past few seasons.
The £1.5m was the fee to sign him in Jan. He won't cost us anything except the agent fee and player fee (and wages etc)
