He's got a couple more clips to add to his promotional video today, that first goal will probably be the highlight of the whole thing.

****ing awful, premiership players will have him running round in circles with a broom handle under his chin.

First goal, player running at him, one to his left. He has 2 choices, mark the player to his left or close down the runner. What does he do? Do **** all, hesitate, take a step forward far too late just as the runner picks out the pass to play the wider player nicely in behind him.

He made the exact same mistake again mere minutes later and had it not been for stockdale rushing off his line, he would have gifted them 2 goals in the first 15 minutes.

Then made the exact same mistake for a third time!!! Again in the first half, a bit deeper this time and just managed to get back to make a tackle and rectify it.

Seen people blame him for the second goal but don't know about that, I was quite low down and it was hard to see exactly what happened.

He's had a good season for the most part so far and pretty much managed to cut these clown moments out, so it's a huge shame to see him go and do it so many times in one half after all that work. I will have that fear in my mind whenever he plays again now. It's quite ironic too, as I joked to my old man in midweek I bet mcshane starts and drops one of his clangers in the first minute to gift them the game 1-0. Happened a bit different but I was nearly right <laugh>

We definitely could have defended the whole lot better, from mcshane running the ball halfway over the pitch and over the line, to the 2 corners, to the free ball they scored from.

No way. Mcshane left a player to run a quarter of the length of the pitch at him and another one completely free in space to get behind him to go 1 on 1. He couldn't have covered both but he could have stopped one - thus stopping the other if successful. He didn't even try, just let the midfielder run to his proximity then pass behind him for nellies to run onto.

And the excellent O'Grady shrugged aside Faye like he weighed 6 stone wringing wet to set up the tone for the rest of the day. It was embarrassing how easily he disposed of our supposed defensive colossus.

Did anyone else think Stockie could've saved the first? I might be wrong as I haven't seen it since, and obviously it happened very quickly, it was a great shot but it was from a really tight angle and seemed to be quite central when it hit the crossbar and went in. Never really think 'keepers should be beaten like that.

Nah it was just a great shot flew by him before he knew it.

You could well be right, I'll have to give it another watch. No doubt it was a great shot I just think 'keepers always expect to stop or at least get a hand on shots from that kind of angle.

I personally thought it went off stockers and he hit it up into the post. Was tough for him to do much with, very powerful and close range.

We were ****ing ****, full stop. The blame wasn't with McShane. How about the other 3 challenges that failed?

    Changes needed for Cardiff.
4-4-2 is has to be. The 3-5-2 isn't working anymore.

Its no use swapping the front 2 when we are clearly lacking in the midfield.

    We can still do this

General consensus at half time was that we needed to go 4-4-2, that Simpson should be on for Fryatt or Boyd and Rosie should come on for either of them, or Quinn.

I know Bruce has done a great job, but if the team was picked by a vote on here, I think we'd be up already, the last three team selections have been poor.

I completely agree. I don't know what Bruce has seen in Fryatt to warrant him playing in front of Simpson for the last two games. He still looks far off the pace, and I'll be furious if he is started again at Cardiff.

Elmo looks shattered, can't remember him beating a man more than once a game now, where as before it was a regular thing. Would bring Rosie in for him as he really does work hard and beats his man a few times even if his crosses aren't Elmo standard. I said at HT go 4-4-2, it was clear we needed to.

Mcshane is awful at times, i never rated him, his positioning and decision making has never improved, and i have said this all season. Unfortunately his uselessness has cost us another goal today. If we kept it at 1-0 going into last twenty who knows but the second goal killed us, think that all started from a poor punch from Stockdale, but Mellis shrugged off Macca far to easy. May need to see the second one again.

Agreed! Simpson should have started with Boyd with a flat back four. An untested, new partnership was always going to be a risk. Matty could have made more of an impact coming on for the last 25-30 mins.

I couldn't believe he went with Fryatt again today to be honest was a big mistake going on the last game unless he is sensational in training, couldn't understand it at all going on last time out. Then you get people slating Matty for the managers mistake, in fact he got dogs abuse on here if you check the match thread, not sure what it was like at the match. Bruce needs to pick a team with some legs in it next time out, forget his loyalties and pre-set ideas and get players on the pitch who can run and are fresh
