Given that he has previously stated that he'd rather Saints were non-league than in the PL, I suppose merely viewing survival as desireable means a sudden rush of positivity!
Man, is the forum ever doing odd things; in the reply-to box I can see recent posts, but not in the threads themselves.
Adam Blackmore: 'Luke Shaw had a fitness test this morning at St Mary's , but nobody confirming if he passed it or not #saintsfc'
Adam Blackmore ‏@bigadamsport 44s Thanks to @roxydinnis for telling me that Luke Shaw has been in hospitality with a cast on his left foot #saintsfc Fox it is.
SAINTS: Boruc; Clyne, Yoshida, Hooiveld, Fox; Schneiderlin, Cork; Rodriguez, S. Davis, Lallana; Lambert. BENCH: K. Davis, Fonte, Forren, Do Prado, Puncheon, Gastón, Mayuka.
Very attacking line-up from West Brom, three strikers named - Long, Lukaku and Fortune. No Mulumbu as he's still banned, Dorrans and Morrison also attacking players, Yacob the sole defensive-minded player in midfield. Dare I use the phrase 'there for the taking?' No, I'm too much of a wuss. Very brave from Steve Clarke though.
Right sort of lineup to play against us if the manager has a gambler's spirit; they'll be extremely dangerous on the counter, though only if they can actually touch the ball.
WEST BROM: Foster; Reid, McAuley, Olsson, Ridgewell; Yacob, Dorrans; Fortune, Lukaku, Morrison; Long. BENCH: Myhill, Tamas, Jones, Daniels, Thomas, Odemwingie, Rosenborg.
Indeed, they're set up to be fairly weak defensively (although I'm sure they'll get numbers back), so we should have more of the ball and pose a good threat, but with the numbers we get forward and the attacking players they have on the pitch they could be lethal on the counter. Just going to be a matter of who takes advantage of their attacking opportunities probably.
All 4 panellists on Sky have gone for Saints...Tiss nearly fainted with shock. He said, They'd better win now. I'll echo that, Matt. Also spoke about Poch saying we could be in CL next year....he was joking, for heaven's sake!
