Whatever I think of Murdoch's empire, even I accept that only so much can be done. Leicester are a particularly good example of why at least something needs to be tweaked though. If they don't make the playoffs, I can see them losing a considerable number of season ticket holders who can't go on Fridays, Sundays and/or Mondays. Financially they could be in for a triple whammy: probably fewer season ticket holders, they definitely won't get ten televised games next season, and financial fair play will start to bite.
If we win our next five games we are definitely a Premier League club. If we win our next five games and Hull don't win one of their next two, we are a Premier League club with nine points on the board. Piece of cake.
but if we lose our next 5 games we are a Championship side at or near the relegation places As Homer puts it "if ifs and buts were candy and nuts ......."
Looking forward to tonights game. On paper it should be a great game but with what's at stake I can see it being a tense, nervy affair. Are many of you lot making the trip? If we do get a win there's a real chance we could be playing each 3 times over the coming weeks. I'm feeling cautiously optimistic that we can get a result tonight but am under no illusions it will be our toughest test for a while.
Not long to go Form guide favours the Orns http://www.kickoff.co.uk/4873/leice...-at-the-prospect-of-putting-pressure-on-hull/ Worth a read.... some good stats here...
Form/Stats go flying out of the window in a game like tonight with such big stakes. Just like a cup game
Unless my maths is wrong, Watford last 8 games = 8 pts Lecester last 8 games =7 pts. Leicester last 2 = 4 pts from decent opposition. Watford last 2 = 3 pts from poor opposition - and those 3 came after a 2nd half capitulation by Blackburn. The fact that Leicester are at home and playing reasonably well suggests that the stats aren't in Watford's favour as much as many seem to think. In reality they have played 1 good half of football in the last 4. My gut is saying this will quite probably be a score-draw.
Not by much though if you look at the last 8. Last 2 leicester are stronger. Watford have had one decent half of football against a poor side. This looks likely to be a score-draw if I'm being honest.
Unfortunately for your theory we absolutely played Millwall off the park - a real smash and grab job. Now that our strikers have tasted blood, confidence should be back. You have also conveniently overlooked the previous 2 games - a draw with Cardiff who pretty much parked the bus ; and a win at Hull. I suppose it comes down to who Leicester are most like - Millwall and Posh or Cardiff and Hull?
