When asked to comment on Boruc's declaration that he wants to play Champions League football with Saints in the next couple of years earlier, MP replied: ''Why in a couple of years? It might be next year.'' Sounds like some serious strengthening is being planned for summer. Where do you think we'll finish?

Mauricio was tongue in cheek when he said that, but did follow up with the statement that you should always aim high. I did go for 8th because I hope we will have another good season (for a team so recently promoted), but I don't think we will get all those victories against top sides (they will be wise to us by then) and we will have to make sure we get points against the others. No mercy from day 1...don't want to lose momentum by having a bad start. Hopefully, we won't get such a wicked start to the season as poor Nigel had to contend with.

7th. I don't think we'll quite be able to squeeze into the established top 6 of Man U, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs & Everton.

1st because we're gonna rip up the Championship!

    Went for 8th, tad optimistic.

No we can't Manure already have too many points, we could go higher than we are now though.

I can't help but think that we will become a bit of a joke if we keep saying all this 'we will get champions league' I'm certain Pochettino was joking... I think we will be mid table for what its worth.

Mauricio was joking...it was in response to Boruc saying we would be in CL in two years. MP was told his target was Europe, but the Europa is more likely and in facta reasonable target.

    7th. I like the number 7 so that's why I've chosen 7th.

I can't judge yet, I don't know what our squad is and how it compares. Same goes for management.

I reserve the right to amend my prediction once the Summer window closes and once we know what we have to play with.

Sorry, but I have to know whether or not this was meant as a joke. If so, clever!

In all honesty I can't see us finishing above City, Utd, Chlesea, Totenham, Liverpool, Everton or Arsenal the strength and quality of those squads will take a few years for us to match. Outside of those teams I think we have as a good a chance of everyone, expect Newcastle to do better without europa and West ham will probably strengthen again but I think top 8 should be our goal which would equal our record premier league placing, not bad in our second season back. (Having said all of that and although its extremely unlikely imagine if we somehow went down, how this thread would come to haunt us ahah!)

Going by our display today we should be about 15th. However, it all depends on our signings during the summer with only Morgan, Clyne, Boruc and Shaw certain starters. Our old favourites like Lallana, Rickie, Punch, Davis and all our CBs may be pushed out if we bring in quality signings. JRod I have not included as he may fall into both groups
