He'll still get an earful even if he's just in the tunnel.

So he's been given a 10 math ban by the FA and the club have said that they are shocked and disappointed at the severity of the ban. He has until lunchtime on Friday to appeal, so I wonder if there is a strong possibility he will appeal and end up playing on Saturday?

He cannot play Saturday. He's admitted a violent conduct charge which carries a 3 match ban. He's accepted that. An appeal would be over the extra 7 games.

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has been banned for 10 games by the Football Association for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic.
The incident happened during Sunday's 2-2 draw between the sides.

The 26-year-old later apologised for biting the Chelsea defender and was fined by Liverpool on Monday.
The club, who have until Friday at 12:00 BST to appeal, said they were "shocked and disappointed" at the length of the suspension.
Uruguay international Suarez had accepted the FA charge of violent conduct but claimed his ban should be three games, the standard punishment for violent conduct.
An FA statement read: "A three-person independent regulatory commission today upheld the FA's claim that a suspension of three matches was clearly insufficient and the player will serve a further seven first-team matches in addition to the standard three. The suspension begins with immediate effect.
"The Liverpool forward had accepted a charge of violent conduct but had denied the FA's claim that the standard three-match sanction was insufficient for the offence.
"The incident was not seen by the match officials and has therefore been retrospectively reviewed.
"Suarez has until midday on Friday 26 April to appeal [against] the additional suspension, above the standard three matches."

The ban covers their final four games of this season, and the first six games of 2013-14.
Reds managing director Ian Ayre said: "Both the club and player are shocked and disappointed at the severity of today's independent regulatory commission decision.
"We await the written reasons tomorrow before making any further comment."

It is not the first time Suarez has been charged with such an offence. He was banned for seven games when he was at Ajax after biting PSV Eindhoven midfielder Otman Bakkal's shoulder during a match in November 2010.

During his time at Liverpool, he was also given an eight-match ban and £40,000 fine by the FA for racially abusing Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra in December 2011.
Match of the Day host Gary Lineker said on Twitter: "Very strong punishment. Vital now that FA are consistently strong on all issues eg racism, abusing refs etc. Also this ridiculous, if the ref saw it they can't punish retrospectively nonsense, has to be addressed!"

The standard has kicked immediately. For once the FA have got something right.

I agree. Its not so much the individual bite as much as the culmination of offences. The fact he has been done for this before and had a 7 game ban makes it all the more amazing that he did it again.

I didn't pick up on that bit. That's good news and means he can't nibble his way out of this one!

How on earth can Liverpool think his punishment is too strong. He's already served a 7 match ban for biting in Holland and therefore as a repeat offender they must know it was going to be more. I don't care how good a footballer is I couldn't defend him for this nasty incident. Worth bearing in mind he's already served 19 match ban in past 3 seasons. Nasty little piece of ****.

I think the FA have got the severity right but it does seem to have been plucked out of mid air - there needs to be a better system for consistent treatment.

    This.

I think if Liverpool even dare appeal against it the FA should increase it. Liverpool are shocked by it???? He BIT someone FFS. It's not like he did a bad tackle.

Why hasn't Ivanovic been banned too? Shoving your arm down somebody's throat like that is extremely dangerous.

I find it bizarre how elbowing, stamping, and punching are suddenly far more acceptable than biting. Ivanovich barely had a scratch. It's pretty gross and should be banned for sure, but 10 games? That's worse than a bloody racism ban

There's a few of us on here said earlier in this thread that Suarez is unlucky when you compare him to some others who have gotten away with horrific tackles (not least Macmanaman - Wigan's one not the spice boy).

However, for me its not that Suarez has been treated harshly, but that lots of others have got off far too lightly. The FA are a joke and inconsistent. Suarez has been an idiot and has no real grounds to complain. Liverpool fans have ground to complain about others not being punished!

Way over the top for me, I can only assume the ban length relate to previous conduct because the individual incident wasn't all that bad.
