We seem to have quite a good crop of youngsters this time round despite not doing well this campaign at u21 level. However this appears to be mainly due to a weak back line and lots of chopping and changing. Obviously making CL will have a considerable impact on whom we promote next season. So taking this into account who would you promote if we make CL and if we don't. Here's my list: If we do: Bellerin: I see sagna leaving in summer tbh and this is one flank on which we have lacked attacking impetus going forward. Bellerin has been something of a revelation in the reserves this season. We've been linked with corchia but, although haven't seen him I've read he does tend to lack bit of composure and passing needs work. If we had cash leftover wouldn't be a bad option but priorities lie elsewhere IMO. Gnabry: oxo may well be moved into midfield next season and we really don't have a player capable of taking on full backs on this side. He has been off form recently but can make things happen in an instant. Physically well developed too. If we don't: Akpom: very controversial I know but don't think we can attract a top quality striker without CL. Needless to say bellerin and gnabry I would promote irrespective. Would've definitely promoted Olsson as he's the player I actually rate the highest (yup even over eisfeld) but still needs to develop physically. Can also see hayden making a breakthrough in the next three years. Haven't seen enough of zelalem and campbell seems nailed on to spend one more season in la Liga. Bellerin and Gnabry are certs to breakthrough to the senior squad for me. I been really impressed with Bellerin this season and has been the best player in the youth squad this season. As for Akpom, it's harder to tell, because we have never had a forward who has come through our youth system and many have failed, despite initially impressing (Afobe,Jay Simpson, etc)
Any opinions on young Martin Angha? Was hearing great things about him, even suggestions that he was going to make the CL squad for the Olympiakos game last December...
It's a shame he's leaving but if he kicks on at Nuremburg we should be pleased for him and not look back in Angha.
