Hey ho off we go next season could see a real upturn in Bristol success...there are of course spectators that like to watch football whether its City or Rovers and more inclined to attend if there is success afoot. Both City and Rovers have something to prove and both could be top 6 throughout the season....each will feed off each other for the glory! Will CITY sell though their better players. ...like ADDY? or go for broke? Its time to get rid of the dead wood, respectively meant of course, and build a team similar like GJ had, and nearly made it to the Prem..2014 first division, 2015 championship...2016 (relegated from...lol ) the premiership....we don't want to stop and consolidate go for it KEEP ON SMILING A newlywed couple on their honeymoon prepares to see each other naked for the first time. The husband exposes his knotted and twisted feet. He explains, "I had tolio as a child." The wife asks if he means polio. He says, "No, it only affects the toes." He removes his pants and reveals deformed knees. He admits, "I had kneesles, too." Finally, he pulls off his boxers. In shock, the woman gasps, "Oh no -- smallcox, too!"
We're at a point where both Bristol sides need to realise that our rivalry means very little when attendance is dwindling, and the quality of football in Bristol is in steep decline. That's not to say we should all become best friends. I'd like to see some kind of agreement between both teams, where Bristol City can loan academy and fringe players to Bristol Rovers on the cheap, in return for a yearly friendly between City and Rovers to keep numbers up. I'd also be quite happy to see some kind of academy agreement between the two clubs if it would increase our chances at having a Category 1 academy here.
Mmmm which side has had a very successful year when it comes to their youth set up? Would Rovers want to take City's academy players on loan at any cost?
Probably not right now, but if Lansdown is a man of his word then Bristol City will have a Category 2 academy and want it to be producing first-team players. If he wants this for a Championship-level team then surely it'd be good to reap some of these benefits.
"Mmmm which side has had a very successful year when it comes to their youth set up" The levels that they are both playing at is miles apart !!
Banksy not sure if you are being a little up yourself as usual! The Rovers youth team set up is starting to bear fruit over this side of town with Ellis Harrison moving up to the seniors and enjoying some good success on the field in the league(excellent prospect),Ollie Clarke played his first senior game last weekend, also grew into the match, like to see some more of him, also have just handed out a full time contract to Santos. The academy appears to be producing some potential quality with a further three scholars have signing their first pro contracts with the club, Southway, Keary & Lucas. As for on the field success , I am sure you are aware Banksy that our U18s completed an impressive double beating Carlisle 3-1 to win the Youth Alliance Cup, just days after securing the League title.Success at any level is still success and should not be belittled. It was a fantastic achievement, and gives us all reason to be very excited about the future. Ender .......the youth set ups on the academy side for both clubs with budget restrictions is becoming even more important,With all the serious injuries we picked up this year coupled with the budget restrictions meant that a number of youth team players, have been in and around the first team this season, giving them opportunities to benefit from the senior pros and long may that continue. Its a shame that O Driscoll was not brave enough to blood some of your up and coming talent what they lack in experience is made up for in talent and lack of opposition fear, that enthusiasm rubs of on the older players and helped us move away from the relegation zone this season.
