We all know that this lad (Michael Keane) is a fantastic prospect and I am sure NP would love to have him permanently but unfortunately I canât see Man U letting him go on the cheap. However the last couple of games it would seem our opponents have targeted him as our weakest link and lacking the experience required during a promotion run in. I know to me he has wobbled and made a couple of mistakes whilst under pressure in the last couple of games but I think that just the learning curve for this young lad! My question is should we stick with him or put someone with an older and wiser head in the team instead and who?
He's young - but I'd persevere - not least because he is by far and away our biggest threat from set-pieces ... and what alternatives have we got? - Whitbread does not seem to be fit, st ledger's out on loan and Liam Moore would just be one young head for another (as much as I like him) ... and I certainly wouldn't put "i'm a penalty waithing to happen" Konchesky in that position against good technical players like Watford have
Put nigel in there However I think Keane has been our weak link for a while although he has had the odd good game. Hopefully he learns from mistakes and doesn't repeat them
St. Ledger is no longer with Millwall. He returned last week. He is injured again and will miss the rest of the normal season. Should he recover quicker then expected he is inelligible until the play offs if we make it. Whitbread is also short on quality
Of course we stick with him, we have no other "real" option. Has has played up to this point so he will play the rest of the season. Will his loan be extended "IF" we get to the play offs?
I think he's a very good footballer and has the potential to become an excellent centre back. At this moment in time he is sometimes too casual for my liking but a sense of urgency is something that may well come with time. For the time being though he is definitely our best option to partner Wes.
Alongside Big Wes Michael Keane has looked decent Wes has had to cover up alot of mistakes but overall Keane has been decent. I would want him in the prem just yet but if we have another year down here I wouldnt mind him on loan again aslong as we have decent competition
I thought he joined them at the very end of last month? He only has to be with Millwall for 28 days before he is eligible for recall by you so he could (if he was fit) be recalled before the final game if you wanted to. He's been with you since before Xmas hasn't he? If so it doesn't need to be extended, he'll be on a long term loan which means he's with you until the transfer window opens again.
Old experienced head in Wes can only develop Keanes game further, if our main defenders next year were Morgan, Keane and Moore, id be happy, no doubt Pearson would look for another experienced player to fill the gap if Wes is injured/suspended. These facts are if we stay in this league btw. If we were to go up, do we keep Keane/Moore and give them the shock of their lives, or do we look for more experience?
As St. Ledger is injured we can get him back here for treatment like we did with you lot when you had Waghorn. Should he return to fitness while the loan is still valid then he would return to Millwall
Michael Keane is quality. Another James Chester if you like. Expect SAF to loan him out to a PL club next season. Come in one Steve Bruce.
To be honest whichever divison we are in next season I want us to sign a centre half to play alongside Wes. Whitbread is crap, St. Ledger is too injury prone and not worth the wages he is on. Keane has been decent but I would prefer we actually sign someone
Yes he would, because you don't want to recall him. As he will have technically been at Millwall for 28 days though he would be eligible for recall from his loan if you chose to do so for the final league game of the season. It was the possibility that was being discussed (as one alternative to sticking with Keane) and he is a possibility.
