Worst games: FA Cup Final, Milk Cup Final v Oxford (just never turned up), Play Off final, Vauxhall Motors and Partizan belgrade 4 QPR 0 after we won first game 6-2. Best games 5-5 v Newcastle, 4-1 New Years Day massacre at old Trafford, 6-0 v CFC Easter massacre and my first visit to stamford bridge when we won 2-0. cannot remember the date, only that it was mid week, Mickey Fillery played for Chelsea and that my old me said to me.......If Rangers score, stay seated as we are outnumbered. We scored, and I, aong with many other Rangers fans also jumped out from our seats.
The league cup final defeat to Oxford was upsetting because I was expecting us to win it Vauxhall motors will always be the most embarrassing though Going to Carlisle years ago in the F.A cup and losing 1-0 was another nightmare Best for me will always be the Chelsea 6-0
Best game for me was a 3-0 win at Chelsea in 74-75, accompanying my uncle who was a rabid Chelsea fan. It was memorable for the start being delayed while they moved us away from a floodlight pylon that was wobbling in high winds. We played them off the park and my uncle went to the loo at half-time and never returned! Worst for me was the Cardiff play-off final, just gutting...
The very best 1967 League cup final. beating Chelsea 6-0 beating chelsea 2-1 league cup quarter final Liverpool 2 Qpr 2 2nd leg (2 liverpool own goals) Qpr 8 Sheff Wed 2 The very worst. Vauxhall motors (never felt so low) Milk cup Final loss to Oxford, FA Cup final Replay (we battered them)
Best, hmm, there's so many, but what about when we beat Liverpool at home 3-2. Think it was 88/89 season. They were top, we were bottom or there abouts. Seaman made an unbelievable save from a close range header that was redireted at the last moment. Also remember being delighted that a 'come on you R's' kept going and going. I love a great atmosphere. Worst, again so many. Possibly away to Huddersfield when we were relegated to league 1. I went on my own, it was miserable and when they scored their second and we were basically down, it started to kick off. Brick and bottle dodging all the way back to the car!
Best was beating WBA in League Cup Final. Worst was losing to Aston Villa in League Cup replay at Highbury. But lowest feeling over the years was the night Liverpool beat Wolves in the final 15 minutes away on the last game of season to take the league Championship from us.
Best game has to be the 4-1 at old trafford...not many of us there but we outsung them the whole game...the mancs clapping our support as they left early is something i will always remember... vs oxford is a game i will never forget..bastards
Derby 2-2 QPR. Unbelieveable especially seeing the looks on the Derby's fans faces when we ran out celebrating when they quite clearly had left early at 2-0 at 91mins. Worst match...hmmm...Blackburn away this season. Mackie's leg break all the rumours after and a terrible terrible journey up. Maybe Ipswich at home a couple of years ago. That was pretty bad . Both are pretty recent but I did manage to go 8 years without seeing us lose. Somehow in the 4 or 5 matches I went to a year every one we seemed to win 1-0 or draw 0-0. In those 8 years I went four of them without seeing us concede. I really shouldnt have got a season ticket should I.
Worst by a mile was the Milk cup final.... Best was a game against the hammers... From memory it was a FA cup game and i think we had drawn at upton park and then thumped them in the reply at home... Without looking it up i cant be certain but i think it may have been 6-0...
