People's affected moral outrage quickly evaporates in the heat of self-interest.

Probably. If the reports of him wanting more talks are true, it may well be he was looking for more dosh as he was, until now, having a great season.

Michu? A big strapping centre forward of a lad? Yeah, Brendan loves them.

So did Ronaldo and Torres just before they left. I'm amazed there are experienced sports journalists claiming Suarez's new contract means he'll stay. After all, he said he wants to stay. Him also saying he'd have to listen to offers was forgotten, either because they have the memories of goldfish or it doesn't suit the narrative.

All he needs to do is hand in a transfer request and we'll tell him to go if he doesn't want to stay because "No player is bigger than the club." Then we'll call him a Judas.

With all the **** he's caused the fans would really lay into him if he did that. <laugh>

sorry guys but while you might believe that and while i might share the thought that someone will bid I have to put the basic premise of my argument across. ANYONE coming to bid will low ball with the belief that damaged goods = a bargain buy.

whether it be juve once again talking big in the press or whatever i think we will get a really low bid of 23mil max to take him off our hands. thats my opinion anyway. its like carroll, if people smell blood they'll try to take advantage.

  6. I could. I wouldn't be much good but I'm willing to run about, work hard and, at a push, I'm happy to stamp, bite and racially abuse folk for £100k+ per week <ok>

  7. Michu joined last summer on fairly low wages and short term deal (2 or 3 years) but he has since renewed his contract (towards the end of 2012 I think) because of the impact he made.

He's been brilliant this year but he's gone missing since Swansea won the League Cup. Not sure he can even be called a one season wonder. If clubs wait and he has another quality season then his price will be higher. Of course, he's not young either so its a gamble a club will consider.

His value will have sky rocketed and we'll be forced to play inflated prices.

I just hope we buy players from outside of England - better chance of getting good value for our money.

look michu has a decent record but a lot of clubs under his belt now and his rise was "stellar" at clta i would not call his record fantastic but he was not a forward then right? at Vallecano his record was quite good and i think swansea has ALL gone missing since the league cup final.

the thing is sometimes it takes a while for all the clubs to figure a guy out. Cisse looked great last year from a january buy but this year sides have prepared for him and newcastle are not delivering behind him either.

counihno got away with a lot of space early on but now sides are getting closer and trying to keep him wider.

michu really got a good run at it but maybe sides are experienced of him and in the second half of the season the CBs know how to handle him?

Bloody hell Vinny. Do you do this ultra-pessimism thing for effect, or are you really so miserable? If you are, what's up? I can recommend a dose of 'Withnail and I' if you need a good laugh <ok>

  11. I'd prefer to look elsewhere, we all know how Swansea will shaft us when it comes to a transfer fee!

Think someone said yesterday (Probably RHC, not sure as I never pay attention to him) that it would be a kick in the teeth (or bite if you will) if he were to leave after all the support we've given him since he arrived. No better way to apologise to us fans by staying put and scoring/creating loads of goals next season.

RHC, you are only supposed to call me the pessimist....

I think the force major (is that how you say that?) in play is still there is not going to be a real forcing of the hand type bid for us. I honestly cannot see anyone bid near 30 let alone 40 mil here.

The only bad scenario is a 20mil bid plus transfer request turning into a capitulation. If we at least man up and do a levy on it then like the modric case we can make some thing of it.

Considering the transfer fees being thrown about for much lesser players in todays market I would be very insulted if anyone bid less than £35m and I still would not even consider that. I normally don't believe in forcing players to stay but considering how long he has left in his contract we are in a position were we should not be forced to let him go on the cheap. Yes his disciplinary record is poor to say the least but he is still a truely world class player

tommy.... i have to say that if the fa drop 12 matches on him that destroys any chance of that. he'll be suspended across european leagues if he moves i think... (wasn't barton??)

I just think if you put all the baggage together, then add in the carroll thing and some financial reports AND then top it with not even europa league... well i think someone will think they might put a cheeky bid of 23mil in. i can see it being an endless story up to the end of august honestly.

Suarez was a disaster waiting to happen, and oh boy,did it happen. Were Shakespeare alive today his next tragedy would surely be based on him.

The real tragedy is that he is such a prodigious talent, and the prospect of losing him must be giving die hard Liverpool fans' sleepless nights, and or nightmares.

He is not irreplaceable, however, nobody ever is,but it will be difficult.

I've now managed to speak to my highly disgruntled reporter mate. As soon as he saw it happen, he knew he was in a world of **** <laugh> He reckons only two possible clubs would even have a go at the moment - Madrid and PSG. However, he doesn't think he'll go anywhere, and he's now ****ed on wage negotiations as he's backed himself into a corner. Bayern and Barca wouldn't touch him at the moment and for some time to come. So on the plus side, looks like we've got him for at least one more season <yikes> He owes us big time anyway <ok>

PS There's absolutely no way that LFC will contemplate piss-take bids from any ****er.
