Obviously it's very subjective and everyone's opinion will vary.

Personally I think Messi and Ronaldo are a class above.

Then there's Lewandowski, Falcao, Neymar to name a few that could be considered on par but get overlooked because they don't play in England or for Barca/Madrid.

I've scored plenty over the shoulder goals in 5 a side, granted I was pretty much stood still as the pitch is tiny and he was running full whack and having to position himself rather than just stand around waiting for it to drop. I personally reckon the low and hard crosses or curling ones from behind you (like the cross for gedos goal against Blackburn I think it was from Quinn) are the hardest ones to get a good controlled contact on. But everyone's different and find some things easier than others, I'm better with the outside of my boot then the inside for a start <laugh>

****ing great goal though, such a sweet contact he made with the ball, hard, accurate and dipping wickedly, even if the keeper was better positioned to save it he would have had a job judging where it was going to end up. One thing I don't get though is everyone's in favour of passing football and hate route one, but then an about as route one as you can get goal is being widely tipped as goal of the season...

I reckon the Route One people hate is the aimless bang up it up front type, Rooney passed the ball brilliantly so for me that goal qualifies as proper football and not Route One hoofball.

I think Ronaldo is obviously a better player, but I don't think he's as deadly as Van Persie in terms of finishing. He's more about pace, tricks and long shots isn't he? Falcao is a good shout, but I've hardly seen anything of Neymar and very little of Lewandowski.

Lewandowski is a fantastic finisher (based on highlight shows, mind you), but Falcao is probably the best out of them all.

Lewandowski's goal against Malaga (I think) the other week was quality.

I think you have a point, very often the best goals are the route one goals, as there is usually an exceptional piece of skill in scoring involved.

Not the best player but best finisher. I can't name anyone I'd rather have with the ball in front of goal. His technique and composure are unreal and he scores all types of goal.
