We still have a chance. For the remaining games, we must go all out, guns absolutely blazing. I'm going to keep spinning it positively. Onwards and upwards,
You actually think that rabble could win four out of four? When we've managed 4 out of 34? Men in white coats for you Yappy...
Yappyr its over forget it & move on to the championship, maybe if we had picked up max points against wigan & stoke if might have been different but to late now.
Silly me .............. I thought they'd been busting their backsides all year! There ain't much 'onwards' left ................... can offer plenty of 'upwards' though............... got oodles of it, any takers!
We keep doing this to ourselves don't we? Beyond all reasonable comprehension, in our deepest heart of hearts we kid ourselves in believing that we still have a chance. It's akin to schizophrenia. One minute we hate the team for what they've put us through. The next we ponder the if only's, the missed opportunities, the missed pens, the bad decisions, injuries, refs... Then we go totally off our rockers and imagine what if we suddenly 'click' get on a hot winning streak and everyone else around us capitulates. Fairy tales happen and football is full of fairy tales of magical proportions. I do this to myself on a daily basis, even on an hourly one if I'm being honest. I'm sure some of you do to. The stark truth of it all is that it ain't going to happen. We need to win four out of four. The sum total of wins this season. Our last five games have yielded one point. ONE POINT!!!! One point out of fifteen when we're supposedly fighting for our lives! And four of those games were against bottom half opposition, three of which were our relegation rivals. We've been let down big time. We have been totally mugged off. We're going down without even a whimper, that's what really bloody hurts. With four games still to go, we're gone. That is unacceptable. For this group of players to not to be able to take this season, to at least to the last day is disgraceful. The players that we have, have no respect for anyone. Not for Harry, Hughes, Our fans, Our owners, the game and most of all our club as a whole. They are quite simply a disgrace. Rant over.
We have to be the easiest team in the league to predict...surely we've all learnt that? We'll huff and puff and lose by one goal, thats it.
How about a one of cup final on Saturday...to decide who is the worst team in the division Dear RRs could we win that one at least...so we can at least say, there was a worse team than us in the premiership that year....(yes I know that winning on Saturday wouldn't mean that...but it would be a moral victory against the fake hoops)
I admire your optimism Yappy. General consensus is that we are down, and I would have to agree with that. Although I to would love to see the team fight tooth and nail to win the remaining games, even if they do, I can't see us staying up, it's over. However, winning all four will show us, the fans, something that we haven't seen all year, and desperately need to see. It will show us, albeit too late, that those 11 men give a crap. It will show that they understand they have let us all down, and want to make it up to us in the coming years. If they can't do that, they don't deserve to wear the hoops, and I would go further than that, they don't deserve to have the privilege of playing football everyday for their profession. So, there may be no hope for the present, but four wins may well give me a little hope for the future.
I've got a great idea! How about the Championship play off final winners get to play in a Prem play off finals tournament with the bottom threee of the Prem to see who stays up? ( Starting from this season. )
looking forward to going to Reading and larging it up.. every time they fire a shot off target we can sing 'that's why your'e going down..' err... hang on a minute!
As long as there is the remotest possibility of survival, however remote, we must go all out to win these last games, and not screw about playing an 11 as part of some plan for next season. There is an extremely remote channce that Villa or Wigan won't scrape together the few points they need. If we look idiotic now, just imagine how we will look if Harry sends out a team of reserves and youth and we lose, while Villa go into meltdown and don't pick up another point!
Tell it to Harry and the team Ossie... We already know that. It's the w%£$*^s in the dressing room who need telling.
Yappy, you need to take off the rosey glasses. We've been crap all season and the last five games was our opportunity. We've missed the boat, please for your sanity's sake, wake up and stop dreaming. Interestingly, seeing the R's win doesn't even feature in my dreams anymore. I bet the same is true for many other too.
thought you hadn't been around for a while Yappy, in case you didn't know we have failed to win our last few games and are going down
Afraid that's right Gimme, you ain't ever going to catch that cute little Canary.Whilst mathematically there is still a chance of survival the odds are now drifting into "name your own" territory.
