Who Could Replace Suarez?

Now I am still hopeful that Suarez will stay but if it does happen that all the negative media attention, booing fans and of course our old friends at the FA put too much pressure on him forcing him out of the premiership who could Liverpool realistically get that would even be close to good enough to replace him. We are not going to qualify for Champions for Champions League or even the Europa League for that matter.

Of course if Suarez does leave we could expect anything between £40M-£50M so we would have a decent transfer budget but who realistically that is even close to on par with Suarez would be willing to join us in our current situation? As people like to tell us we are a mid table team and in my opinion if we sell our best players we will continue to be a mid table team for years to come which is why Liverpool need to fight to keep Luis.

If we were to sign 4-5 players of Coutinho's quality and price tag it would possibly be the smartest move the club has ever made...

...but that wouldn't happen and chances are we would be a much weaker team without him. I'm fairly certain he is actually irreplaceable at this moment in time. Keep him at all costs.

I would buy Michu with some of the money.

If Suarez were to leave, Michu would be a great signing. However I doubt you would get £40-50 million for him.

Regardless of his behaviour clubs will always come in for talent like Suarez even with all that's gone on I'd be very surprised if we couldn't get £40 million for him.

Its possible Michu could still be a one season wonder so would not want to gamble to much on him yet. I would not take less than £40M for Suarez as for me despite the baggage is still the best player in the premiership. If no one is willing to pay it then he stays

The Premiership as a whole would be all the poorer for a player like Suarez to leave, I'm actually looking forward to the summer and seeing the likes of Falco and Cavani possibly coming (even if it is to other teams) for my mind the Premiership has far too few players that are genuinely exciting to watch.

This. No one person can replace Suarez to be honest as he's a player with a unique style but the proceeds from any sale will have to re-invested wisely.

In terms of bringing in 4-5 players - I would like to see the following:

Striker: Gameiro - A fast, technical player who is versatile and can play along the front line. Good experience in the French league and is used to high expectations.

AM/Classic Number 10: Eriksen - We're crying out for a link between attack and midfield and he's the perfect person. We desperately need a 'Mata' type player who is able to retain possession, comfortable with the ball at feet which then drags 2-3 defenders out of position. His passing, creativity and vision is phenomonal for someone of his age.

DM: Don't know who's about there are talks of Wictor Wanyama, Diame etc. Bascially, someone who has the ability to get about the pitch, very mobile, physical and win the midfield battles. Provides good competition for Lucas.

CM: We need a deep lying play maker who can dominate the midfield. Alonso would be perfect but probably unrealistic.

CB: Ideally 2 would be needed - Alderweirald from Ajax is a classy and confident defender with good experience, and Sakho from PSG would provide us with pace and physicality.

Possibly even a half season wonder, and he's not so young.

Think he signed a five year deal sometime last year? I may be wrong though.

(That's basically I am wrong, cause I normally am! <ok>)

    1. there is nobody going to pay 40mil for suarez now. time to take the blinkers off guys! we rehabilitated a player TWICE and he's bit a guy. his value is now in the toilet. All clubs will be in for a bargain such as juve. bayern will not bid for him now at all and barca and real drive hard bargains.

    2. the facts about suarez are he's incredibly dirty player, a guy who shoots early and plays instinctively. he is not actually that strong dribbling or in terms of pace. nutmegs are one thing but he won't beat that many guys as collins proved. he's got 30 goals and is an incredibly hard worker....

3 there is nobody in world football willing to join us to replace him bar someone who's very young or in trouble elsewhere.

History shows that there are always clubs who are still willing to pay for bad boys. Therefore I believe your first 2 points are wrong.

As for point 3, it could also be argued that LFC could be very attractive to any number of players if Suarez leaves as they could be seen to be the new NUMBER 1
