I mean KP didn't turn pro untill he was 21. He had to develop late too much like McClean. Why would you think I was comparing ability? <doh>

Ok, but SKP was a quality footballer. He always had it by all accounts, McClean couldn't lace his boots and you can tell because he offers nothing but hard work. Put a Sunderland strip on me and I would work hard too.

The lad has already had numerous chances and for a nobody, who is punching above his weight by being at our club. Who the hell does he think he is?

Why not, for once, focus on the great stuff happening at the club.

    Just a ****ing idea like.

If Paolo see's him as good enough for the first XI, then the lad isn't '****'.

Even when we're winning there has to be a ****ing target.

A talented young footballer that could if he chooses to follow the instructions of much older, wiser heads might well become remembered for all the right reasons.

Hey, I'm not saying I rate the lad, don't rate elmo either but they both have some strong attributes and think Paolo should be given the chance to work with them before kicking them out the door.

We don't need to sell in a hurry so what's the harm? Paolo will move them on as soon as he see's fit anyway.

I couldn't be more happier with the way the team is playing. He's not being targeted either but he doesn't help himself by continually getting himself in the headlines for the wrong reasons. I'm also on a football forum so it ain't really gunna effect him. If i was at the match, then I would support him.

For me, he's had enough chances. If it was Sess then he could do as he pleases, but he's not and I don't want to see anymore of our **** players being loved by the fans. Like Nosworthy was, it's ridiculous.

    Ok, that's a fair point.

All I can say to that is, the harm it could do, could be quite damaging by him constantly getting himself into bother. Things are going well now, we dont need any liabilities that could have a negative effect on the squad at any given time.

agreed, but he is not a **** player, if he can learn to turn the other way, as we saw on saturday he can develop into a hell of a player for £300k

I don't love McLean, but please tell me, and remember I'm a season ticket holder of 24 years, coming up 25, who never misses a minute of a Sunderland game home or away one way or the other, how McLean is the least effective, or most worthy of criticism, player in the team.

    He simply isn't.

And, as for 'forum, won't affect him'.

He uses Twitter, like a forum, a form of social media, I'd be amazed if players didn't read there clubs forums, absolutely amazed.

As this & RTG are the popular ones, let's not assume players don't check in.

they absolutely do for a fact, so while we're on id say tetinus bramble is the worst player and has brought the most shame on the club so if we are going to have a go at someone it should be that prick

Fair point back at ya fella. He's a very political lad with a juvenile mind. I understand he grew up around a lot of bombings and is very passionate about his cause (don't know much about the irish bombings to be honest) but Paolo will sort him or he'll be sent packing won't he?

He's no Suarez, so it's getting harder to turn a blind eye. If someone offered 4-5m, I'd let go. If his market value is substantially less (and it could well be), I'd keep him on the bench as a squad player for another year to see what he can make of himself.

Can I just say most on here are giving the lad a hard time yet both MON and Di Canio play him in the first XI so there must be something there. As to what he says and does of the pitch........................do we really want to open that can of worms again!

I have said this all season but got shot down when I suggested that he was a one trick pony who would never make it at the top level....glad to see that some guys see him for what he is....lets hope we find a championship team who are willing to spend some dosh on him!

Mush is right. Someone will be checking in.

The lad is a bit of a twat but Paolo trusts him to do a job so I will too.

Talking uniquely about his ability (not his off pitch behanviour) some people have short memories on here, have people forgotten the impact he had last season?

Mcclean has suffered from 2nd season syndrome. Let's see what he does next season.

    Ability aside:

MON banend him from twitter, and now MON is not here. Lets see how PDC handles it.

DiCanio has already noted (post-Everton match comments) how JMC tries too hard to be a clever twat in training (not those exact words, my interpretation). So with a bit more tuition and coaching, let's see if PDC can turn him into a better player for next season.

for sure he needs humbling, but given the meteoric rise to fame it's no surprise it went to his heed. stones and glass houses. if he's ****e next year, then obviously we get rid, but i'd rather he was not too ****e so we get more money for him.
