He has form for it aswell though.
    Repeat offences should be considered.
Do you think that if JT was done for racism again, he would get the same ban as last time?

Fairclough: "I don't think Shankly or Paisley would have sweepingly said 'that's the end' and wipe their hands of Luis Suarez."

    Luis Suarez‏@luis16suarez

For my unacceptable behaviour yesterday the club has fined me today, I have asked the club to donate the money to the Hillsborough Family Support Group for the inconvenience I have created to the Liverpool fans and to Ivanovic.WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT I SAID LFC SHOULD DO

Suarez also expected to be forced to take anger management classes, which will also reduce his ban

John Barnes: "I've heard talk about him not playing for Liverpool again, which I think is ridiculous.""So Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona... they can sign him? But we can't have him?".................. John Barnes totally on the money again. This guy needs to be employed by the club a VERY bright guy

Some of the lemons on here wanna sell our best player to one or our rivals for less than his truth worth <doh>

Apparently the PFA has offered him Anger Management. I say take it if true. At least be seen to be actively attempting to change.

The rest: apologies, donations even inhouse bans have been easy gestures to make that don't solve the underlying issues.

Really hope it can all work out good for him & us because if he really is the type to feel genuine remorse after the event it can't be pleasant to constantly feel like you let people down.

    Different FAs though.

I highly doubt the FA can take into consideration what he did in Holland ?

Agreed and in fairness to Suarez he's done the right thing asking for his fine to be donated. It's just a shame it had to happen at all and a shame some of my fellow "supporters" are so willing to raise this one player above all else connected to the club. Maybe it isn't just Suarez who needs to take a look at himself eh <ok>

Personally, I would have thought that in that split second... as an adult human being, the thought of biting someone shouldn't have even popped into the head.

No, what I was saying was clear & concise. He'll get the ban he deserves for biting an opponent, as there's no comparable the FA can do what they like here & expect them to send out a message that biting isn't something they want to see replicated on football pitches anywhere in this country - ever. He's going to get the book thrown at him, deal with it ffs.

Could be a good thing in the long run as maybe some top teams would be put off him by his latest antics. I think he should be give a yellow card like Defoe was for the EXACT same offence.

The day after that win several papers ran backhanded compliments about what a fantastic performance it had been from a player who'd.... WC handball, biting ban, etc, etc. Even before the Evra business, the Mirror couldn't mention his name without pulling out his crime sheet. Agreed, a wiser player would know his responsibilities and accept the politics and control of the media by the dark forces that are prevelant in England. Luis is ****ing thick, with seemingly child-like self-control.

First half was diabolical and showed just how weak our midfield and attack is. Suarez alone needs help and Sturridge provided that support.

Midfield of Lucas, Gerrard and Henderson may have effort and work rate but lacks real technical ability to link with attack.

Having said that, Chelsea didn't really have that many chances - their man threat were from corners. Also, Shelvey and Gerrard had to golden chances to score. Very wasteful.

  16. Least the club has fined him. Good start, they need to set an example of him here after standing by him in the Evra saga.

Apologies for another 'Suarez' thread but felt that this interview would have been lost in other threads.

    http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/reds-confirm-suarez-fine

    ----------------------------------------------------

Liverpool FC managing director Ian Ayre today provided an update on the incident that occurred involving Luis Suarez during Sunday's game with Chelsea. Here is what he had to say in full.

Ian, everyone is still talking about Sunday's incident with Luis Suarez. What is the latest on the situation?

I think the most important thing is that we acted swiftly yesterday. Luis issued his apology and then we spoke with him last night and then again this morning. We've taken action to fine Luis for his actions. Brendan has spoken to him and I've spoken to him, and Brendan will be working with him further on his discipline. You can see when you speak to him how sorry he is about it and he's certainly shown quite a lot of contrition to us - and as part of that, he's also asked we donate the fine to the Hillsborough Family Support Group. I think he felt like he let a lot of people down yesterday. We'll work with Luis - Brendan particularly - on this side of his character in his game. Hopefully that puts the matter to rest from our point of view and we'll wait and see if there's any further action from the football authorities.

Have you had any contact with the owners regarding this situation?

Yes, of course. With any incident like this, any major incident at the club, we're in direct dialogue with the owners, always. I spoke to them last night and they were happy with the way we were handling the matter.

Will the events of the last 24 hours have any bearing on Luis's future at Liverpool Football Club?

Not at all. It affects his future in the sense that we have to work with him on his discipline - but Luis is a very important player to the club. He's a very popular player with his teammates. As we keep saying, he signed a new four-year contract last summer and we'd all love to see him here throughout that contract. He's a fantastic player, top scorer and everything we'd want in a striker, so there's no change there. This is more about getting him back on the right track and it's largely down to Brendan now to work with him on that side of his character.

Also several years ago. Additional punishments for repeated bad conduct tend to get reset every half a season or so in the league (and in cup competitions when a different stage is entered). So using an incident from 2010 in a different league would be a massive change in precedent.

Last paragraph is important. Let's just hope they don't go back on their word like they did with Dalglish last year, and keep him. Unless of course we have an offer come in which we can't refuse and he goes as expected before this incident even occurred.
