I understand what you're saying and his acts are disrespectful. But we cannot forget that he's the only player here who plays with his heart on his sleeve, maximum intensity, 90 mins a game, 50 games a season. He works hard, chases down everything and wants to win. In that sense, he respects the sport that pays him so handsomely.

Eric, you are right when you say that, FA apart, what happens now is down to our club's management. However, calling those who have forwarded a defence for Suarez pathetic is really not going to help matters. I see no comment from you regarding the equally pathetic calls from opposition supporters for him to be banned from football or telling our management what they should do.

I agree, we can't go selling our best players, we aren't Arsenal. We have to do what's best for Suarez and the club and if that means him taking anger management counselling then so be it <ok>

Big IF, but hopefully we can get Eriksen in the summer and play at the top of midfield triangle as he has the ability to link the midfield and attack. Such a crucial position - we need our 'Mata'.

Agree with Suarez on the wing - looks far more dangerous there.

Has anyone here ever had anger management before? Or even know someone who has had it. I am a bit sceptical on whether talking to a complete stranger about how to stay calm will make any difference to his temperment on the pitch but I suppose it is worth a try.

I'm not sure opposition fans calling for him to be banned is pathetic though Dave, do you ?

It should just be accepted that he has done wrong and then let the club and FA sort it out. I'm sure he won't be sold, why would he ? He will serve a ban and the club will stick by him and righly so for the time being.

I did say some of the defences have been pathetic not all.

If the damage is "irreparable" then why bother getting rid of him now...

Anger Management? I am not convinced that is what he needs. I would say a bleeding good hiding is what is called for, Suarez's issue is not anger but instead of the knowledge that he will not be properly punished by the law.

Selling him for £30-35m would be madness. He's worth more than that regardless of his crazy nature.

I'd compare this bite to an elbow, kick, head butt or stamp. Things that happen all the time. It is the same sort of scenario really.

But a bite it a very strange thing to do, which is why it seems so much worse, plus he has history.

This should be treated like a stand, elbow, head butt or kick.

What he has done is indefensible.
But really, what have Liverpool to gain by getting rid of him.
They lose a World class player, and gain what....a pat on the back from opposing fans and the FA?
He should be punished with a fine and lengthy ban and forced to attend counselling and warned that any further bites will result in dismissal and legal action.
Then everyone should move on and hope the lad bucks his ideas up, because lets face it, if he doesnt get the message after that, he never will.

But imo Liverpool would be stupid to just dump him right now.

I agree with that Jimmy but its uncontrolled at the minute which makes it a liability. He's a grown man who can't be told that his skills & work rate make up for a lack of control that in any other walk of life would lead to a criminal record.

If he even did this in rugby he'd get a serious ban.

I'm not buying the "if you take it out of his game he'll be less of a player" (not saying you we're suggesting that)

All he needs to learn is better decision making. It can be learnt if he wants to.

My question is. If he doesn't want to & continues doing these things, (you can be sure the FA will stick in proviso's for future conduct) and keeps getting lengthy bans, are the points he wins enough to make us stand up everytime & say we support the player not his actions: when do the two not become seperate?

Is it a timing thing? I mean his absence means nothing this season but what if he did it (obviously future talk) in a quarter final or in a run up when we have a chance at CL qualification. Does it become more unacceptable then? And if so why?

    Suarez just tweeted:

For my unacceptable behaviour yesterday, the club has fined me today. I have asked the club to donate the money to Hillsborough Family Support Group for the inconvenience fans and Ivanovic.

It is a strange situation that we find ourselves in as fans, no doubt we need to deal with his behaviour but do we go as far as selling him? I'm on the side of keep him but cannot argue against those who want him out.

To be honest, there's been a lot of fans from other boards saying that Suarez is a twat, but we shouldn't sell him because he is too good. Haven't seen a lot of sums., probably due to the good work of the mods.

Only problem I see is members telling other members that they're plastic etc for not sticking up for Suarez. Not seen many people who want to get rid of him, but to call people names because they can't defend him is ridiculous. One member was incredibly hypocritical telling someone to '**** off' because his views were different to his. Considering this member left the board temporarily because this happened to him once.

I agree a three game ban should suffice, but I'm afraid 'trial by media' will ensure a ban will be longer.

Agree. Cantona is a completely separate kind of incident. Keane is the most disgusting of all.

Suarez is just a less violent, sorry, less "passionate" version of Rooney

Four would be reasonable. Any more and it's official; biting is worse than Terry's racism.
