Not just because Suarez will most likely be banned, but because we've seen this all before. We get 1/2 **** results then randomly pull out a fantastic home win.

It reminds me a lot of when we lost to Reading and then beat Chelsea.

When I saw the fixture list a few weeks ago, I had a feeling we might lose our "winnable" games but beat a biggun and stay up.

Hopefully we can pull off a great home win against Liverpool or Arsenal and finish the season on a reasonable high.

Suarez will be banned due to the fact he picked up his 10th booking

oh! and by the way I'm always optimistic <ok>

what's the point of buying a season ticket if you feel you're not going to win anything

I fancy us to win, mind we should have yesterday. We could do with Colo back to help have a bit of nous at the back. Saylor and Mbiwa are good defenders but neither deals with pressure or has the leadership and assured play of a Colo.

Liverpool did play some good stuff today and I fear for us next week. I am hoping that all the flack coming Liverpool's way for Suarez biting will help to defect their preparation for the game and we decide to play the game of the season.

We would need to play very well to win. But there is no good reason why we can't do that. Sturridge worries me though as he always seems to have a stormer against us!

You mean apart from the fact we've struggled to manage that ALL season?

I know what you're saying and I agree but I think that hope for an impressive performance this season has long since sailed.
In fact I suspect it's run aground and burst into a ball of horrible flames.

Liverpool will need to have an utter stinker (like a team with nowt to play for) plus Suarez banned, us somehow score more than two goals (ruled rightfully onside) and even then we'll be more clinging on than Spock.

Just for god's sake pray we don't score a relatively early goal because we couldn't protect a slender lead if our PL life depended on it.

What's that? Oh it does you say? Ahhh...

(And yes, this season has driven me mad)

    :D

This is a very familiar thought, look what happened against a poor Sunderland team

Even without Suarez Liverpool have Sturridge and Gerrard who have ruined us on numerous previous occasions. Add that to the fact that we are playing terribly and dont seem to realise or care we are in a relegation battle and I'm not expecting anything but a severe hammering.

To be honest I only envisage us getting one more point this season, we just have to hope Wigan don't pick up any more points.

I have a good feeling about next week too. I think we'll have a bite about us that will prove too much for Liverpool.

Think Sturridge will be on a high and will love being the main man.

Coutinho will hopefully do well against Debuchy.

Suarez disappointed us a lot today.

Any optimism from our point of view at the moment is based on blind faith, and blind faith alone.

As a team we've offered very little to suggest we'll get a result against Liverpool. We're anything but free flowing at the moment, nor have we been all season so it's highly unlikely that we'll batter them by 2 or 3 clear goals.

So then we'd have to win ugly, a scrappy 1-0 win. However the chances of this are also unlikely as we simply can't keep a clean sheet in the league. So any or all prediction based on the facts/statistics point to a Liverpool win.

Our one saving grace is that this is football, and anything can happen. So whilst I'm praying for the three points, I'm anything but expectant or optimistic that we'll actually get them.

Don't knock blind faith - its usually a hell of a lot better looking than the facts!

Yeah that's true, it's just depressing that it comes down to relying on blind faith when hoping for a win when you have players with the quality of Sissoko, Cabaye, Debuchy, Cisse, Marveaux, Gouffran, Anita etc.

Our best squad/team since SBR and it's being criminally wasted by constant mis-management.
