Scored 20 goals in the Championship before coming to Norwich in January. Since then he has made a few substitutions and fewer starts. He doesn't seem to be in CH plans - not sure why as he hasn't been given much opportunity to establish himself. Holt hasn't scored for ages and Kamara has scored once in several games. Thoughts?
I can't think why else he was missing from the bench. I'd have rather had him to Kamara today to be honest, with Kamara as an impact sub.
Well Hughton said he wasn't on the bench for tactical reason, basically simeon offers something different from Holt and Kei so made the bench ahead of Becchio. He must not be showing something in training, clearly he hasn't forced himself into the squad. I think the attacking options at the club are going to under go a big reshuffle next season, as evidenced by the RVW signing and the interview with him. Wether Becchio is at the club come August is definitely up in the air. I still think that deal was initiated by Leeds in the hunt for Morison and not us.
I think it's fairly clear that Hughton bought him as a fall back plan should Holt get injured. From what I've seen of Becchio he seems to have very similar attributes to Holt and so I can only assume his role is to take on Holts mantle should he get injured.
I severely doubt that...why would you dispense with a striker who has scored 16 championship goals by January, for a mis-firing striker who was in shocking form! Surely Becchio is worth a punt for the last couple of games? A partnership of him and RvW next season, with a full pre-season under their belts would be an enticing prospect. Victim of getting dragged into a relegation battle, he'll get his chance
This is only hearsay but apparently Becchio left the ground after he found out he wasn't even in the matchday squad, he wasn't injured
Don't blame him to be fair; must be a pretty miserable situation. When you've been playing every game and scoring for fun, to switch clubs and not get an opportunity because the existing personel have misfired badly yet are retained because they're the "tried and tested" manager's favourites, despite the fact they can't hit a barndoor at the moment! In his shoes, he must believe strongly in his ability to contribute to our cause, yet he has been given squat diddly **** opportunities! We need another striker in the summer to go alongside RvW, Holt and Becchio (Kei Kamara is not the answer and we can do better). The fact that we are relying on a MLS club loanee should tell you everything about our current situation.
Not playing Becchio is one of the few things I agree with Hughton on. He's not good enough, the involvement in the game is just not part of his make up. He might be a finisher but we are not the sort of team to do all the work for him.
Says the guy who was behind me !!! Don't know if he saw him leave but like i said it was only hearsay

There must be something none of us know about this situation. Forward line who cannot score - new striker gets minimal opportunities - go figure!
Anyone know how long was left on his Leeds contract? Maybe he'd indicated he wasn't going to sign another, and by swapping him for Morison they guaranteed they at least had a decent striker for next season if the budget is tight. Leeds don't seem adverse to selling their better players.
