Hmmm, not sure what to make of that. A good point away from home, but other results make for unhappy reading in the table. Fact of the matter is that we are now 6 points off the drop with 4 games to play, but if Wigan and Villa win their games in hand, we're in for a tense few weeks...

At least we got a point which considering our away record is a massive achievement!

BBC HT report sums it up:

    West Brom 0-1 Newcastle

Newcastle have been superb but may regret their missed chances.

Before the start we'd have been satisfied with a point but everyone around us are picking up 3. Just got to keep hoping Villa and Wigan keep losing otherwise it'll be brown pants on until the end of the season.

I hope Wigan lose more points than us for the remainder but I'm a little worried tbh because they have a decent manager to steer the ship.

A point is better than nowt. 6 clear of Wigan now, but we have lost the cushion of having Stoke, Sunderland and Norwich below us.

Pardew unimpressive again. 20+ minutes to react to West Brom's half time changes. Waited until it had cost us a goal, and could have been more. When he did make the change... Ameobi. Inspired stuff. Then HBA with 10 to go and the team playing long ball meaning he hardly got a touch and had to do more running with that dodgy hamstring, chasing lost causes. Our manager needs to start doing a lot better than this.

I'm right man you prick!!!! look at his subs all season he's got it wrong.

Don't ****ing sit there and deny it just because you don't like the truth.

So come on then why isn't he a moron??? he keeps lumping Shola on and going long ball and can't see the tired players that need hauling off.

A big steaming pile of s*** is my conclusion. Wonder if Pardew will try and blame European fatigue

The table is so close at the moment, if we win next weekend, and results go our way, we could go up to 11th!

Despite the disappointment of conceding an equaliser I think this is a decent result. The big losers today are Wigan and Aston Villa (apart from the obvious bottom two)

I'd have took a point from the off. Good to see Wigan lost. Shame Sunderland and Stoke won, this should mean though that QPR will be done by the time we play them

Oh yeah as if we will win!!! we are getting worse and worse and Pardew isn't trying anything different. He's so ****ing arrogant he can't see it's not ever working

Jonas in DM, LD and CM positions FFS SHOLA

Long ball, no goals at all from corners

I never watched the game as I was out but if I saw that happening I would have put a fist, a foot or maybe even another family member through the wall

Missed the first half because I was driving, but the radio was quite complimentary, so by the time I got back I was hopeful...

But, if I could go back in time, I'd cause a horrendous accident and roll my yaris a couple of times to make absolutely sure I didn't have to see that car-crash (ironically) second half... Or maybe I'd just do some sight-seeing or pull over to buy some mints... Woeful.

Still, 1pt better off, so we can only finish 18th at worst now! That's the positive.

To be fair Haidara was starting to struggle and had just had a couple of bad moments just before this. Not going to knock him as he's still settling, but actually think it was a god move taking him off.
