A lot of people are understandably frustrated about last night and the players will feel the same however: 1. At the start of the season if given the chance after today's games being 7 points clear at worst 4 points clear, or 1point clear with 2 games in hand come 10pm Friday night, we would have jumped at it. 2. Looking at Watfords next game as Bruce said last night you would expect them to win, at worst get a draw. Either of those results means we would have needed 4 points anyway from Bristol, Barnsley and Cardiff. 3. Only 2 teams at this stage could take second from us with Palace needing to win their last 3 games with us not taking another point. 4. Watford need points from all 3 games too albeit at least 2 wins and a draw with us again not getting anymore points. 5. At worst even if Watford win all, one win from 2 and we are there as we all know regardless. 6. IN SHORT THE ODDS ARE STACKED IN OUR FAVOUR. 7. As for the teams we play. I remember a certain Deano coming on at Barnsley when we made it last time to score, I can see his arms stretched out right now with all us going nuts. The atmosphere was emence so think it will do us a favour to be away from the KC. 8. Even if it came down to the last game I feel more confident against the better teams, Cardiff will be on their hols by then. I can see us winning the next 2 games anyway so cannot see us messing this up, can you???? UTT.
**** me another overly optimistic post, I see us winning our next two games' have you ever been to Barnsley ? They're fighting for survival, they've always been tough to beat at their place. Cardiff will not be easy, they're the best team in the league. They've won the championship and like last nights opponents have NO pressure. Unlike last night they'll also have 2500 fans here for a party. Expect them to out sing our boo boys.
Look one season we needed just one point from 4 games and only managed a draw against already relegated Charlton. When we needed it we won a game and when we never the other teams results went for us. I think if its your time to get auto you will get it. Imagine Watford in your position you would be hoping for a miracle. You are in the same position as we were now, either you can get the point you need or the other teams can lose and you get it anyway. Destiny would say the two promoted clubs meet on the last day, its one of those things that happens. You don`t need other teams to lose you can do it yourself. Until the Blackburn win we felt how the hell are we going to win a game playing like we did before...remember why you are in this position....the team was good enough. No team in the top 8 have done anything much recently its not just us. To be honest its starting to get lonely celebrating promotion on out own, despite our fans wanting to win the championship I was hoping you could win last night which is strange after hoping you lost all season. jck
