Definitely not over rated, under rated if anything. That season he was easily better than the likes of Walcott, Lennon, Milner etc.
Yeah I agree with this, he stood out at the time but that was only because he was playing with mercenary scum like Bullard (when he wasn't injured). The Boat was another good larker. Hunt did put the effort in and we missed him when he was injured.
He stood up for Mcshane I suppose when most of us had given him up for a donkey. The stuff about Bullard is pretty laughable though for the most part.
He was our best player in the PL, I rated him. Tenacious, hard working with end product. I don't think his free kicks were bad at all. He was one of the only players that when he got on the ball, you could see something happening. All those things he does, I think you'd call them professional? He had a lot at stake too in terms of keeping Wolves in the Championship. He certainly didn't owe us anything by gaining an extra yard or complaining at the ref. we were just his employers, he moved on, in the same way we have, and will be doing
He was getting dog's abuse at Chelsea from their puffs still upset about Cech's injury. His early goal to shut them up on his debut was a memorable moment.
what do you call the move he did in one of his last game for us v Wolves ? , y'know that move he did near the touchline that led to a crazy OG , the pikey ballsack! - tho i think he scored for us too
That too. Not a fan of businessmen per se anyway- one or two rungs above scumbag politicians with the odd exception like the Allams
I really enjoyed that game, despite losing, I left feeling like we'd won. I had so much optimism about how we started that second season. It didn't last long.
I loved him at Stamford Bridge in that opening game. He got dogs abuse from Chelski fans. Perfect answer was him scoring for us in front of the Shed End. Quality!
The game I was talking about, was the opening game of the second season, so wasn't after another game. A couple of teams tore us new one at the KC, the gulf was occasionally massive.
