Not a particular good source but heard Pardew was pissed before the game on saturday, team talk and tactics therefore not up to much..any other rumours about backing this up?

Think that is unlikely, it just happened to be that Di Canio did his homework on Pardew's poor tactics more than anyone else has this season.

Surely flirting so close to relegation and some embarrassing results, not least of which against our biggest rivals for bragging rights and a minimum expectation of a top 8 finish is enough to bury him?!

I agree that its no good sacking him so close to the end of the season whilst being dangerously close to relegation, I think Ashley will have learnt from last time that management changes in this predicament can have serious adverse effects. Once we're safe, we should bin him, there are NO excuses for this season, especially after the purchases made in January, plus even the thickest of football fans can see our players are going backwards in quality at an alarming rate! Even the newest additions such as Sissoko, who looked a beast when he joined is looking jaded, unskilled and disinterested.

Sick to death of the s*** performances, lack of cohesion, tactics, movement, pressing and marking and sick to death of the constant stream of bullshit we get fed after every match, something has got to give!

It's essential that if we do replace him, we replace him well. Ashley has shown he doesn't give a toss who he upsets if he thinks he's making the right decision. Rightly or wrongly we have a reputation for getting on our managers back and I think in some way that has affected people's opinion on Pardew, the constant drilling of the idealism of stability is also a factor.

Even taking the above into account though, we're in a rut and Pardew hasn't the tactical nous to bring us out and utilise the strengths of our players, we have one of the strongest midfields in the league on paper but we're being out battled and outplayed by teams of Sunderlands ilk.

We're 2 strikers away from having one of the strongest sides I've ever seen in black and white, we're a long way away from that on the pitch and the buck has to stop with Pardew. How do you think we would fair with this team under the late Sir Bobby, so is our current predicament acceptable? I'd say not!

Very worrying. We are flirting waaaaaay too close to the bottom three for my liking. And as you say, we have some tricky fixtures coming up.

Today only added fuel to the fire for me, after a decent start he set the team up to contain yet again, and yet again we come up short, not just his fault but the attacking mentality of our team is a disgrace.

He absolutely must be replaced in the summer.

I think if Mike Ashley REALLY wanted success for NUFC instead of making his money back he could get David Moyes in the summer.

I know other fans and Everton supporters will laugh at that but if you seriously think about it, Newcastle United would be the perfect fit for him.

He ain't going to get a job with any of the clubs fighting for Champs League unless Mansour jilts Mancini and goes for a sensible, unglamorous option.
The other clubs are all spoken for without chance of change unless Fergie lifts the title and quits – which will surely see Mourinho (with Ronaldo) targeted for them.

Chelsea might fancy him but doubtful for the same reasons as Man City and I honestly believe he wouldn't want the Chelsea job, too risky.

If you think about NUFC, it has everything off the pitch to be a step up from Everton. He'll get bigger financial backing as Kenwright is even tighter than Mike but still not stupid money which is how he operates best in the transfer market.
We're as close to his homeland as you can get in the PL, huge attendances, recent European experience and the kind of hunger for success few can rival. Oh yeah and the best scouting network in the division.

Let's face it, the bones of the squad isn't terrible either and it just needs bashing into shape to get it competing at the business end again. Moyes would know last season was no fluke.

He would also know that if he got it right with NUFC and won silverware, he could become a legendary manager almost immediately.

Outside the top six, where else would he get all this?

Improve his Everton contract, promise a decent transfer kitty and I think we'd get him.
We won't, because Mike won't bother but who agrees in theory?

Not a hope in hell of getting Moyes. Hopefully we'll stick with Pardew for a bit longer.

I don't see why not – apart from him maybe mistrusting Ashley's approach, but Mike could bluff on that.

Everton are a much, much better team on the pitch, I'm not disputing that. Hate saying it but no doubt.
But as I see it, he's after a "bigger challenge" with more chance of financial backing/ambition from his board.

Realistically he can only get Everton into the Europa though and we did that with the current team last year.
Like I say, he won't get one of the 'biggies' so his choices are pretty limited.

What I'm saying is that theoretically all Ashley would need to do is send the chopper, bump his salary enough and promise the clearout cash/funds he'd give Pardew in summer anyway (what, £20m?).

I don't think he'd need much persuasion personally once he knew the top 6 teams were unlikely to come calling.

Getting Moyes in summer would be the ONLY reason I'd ditch Pardew to be honest. I agree it won't happen, but the point is I reckon it could.

Moyes would be ideal. Possibly the best manager in the league, apart from Fergie, and he is very respectable.

My opinion of Pardew is so low right now, I look at 'Arry and Mark Hughes and think "Well you know..." THATS NOT THE POSITION I WANT TO BE IN!!

Heard some talk of Benitez aswell, would also not mind that all. The guy will be hungry to prove himself, he can get a defense working and generally I like the guy, and we will for sure do better in the cups with Benitez!

Not a hope of getting Moyes fellas. He is destined for bigger things. If Everton don't make CL football, he will be out. He's said as much himself. Rafa wasn't given the Chelsea job because Moyes is getting it. Moye's wouldn't leave Everton half way through a season, that's why Rafa was titled Interim.

Harry will prob leave QPR in the summer, so there is always a chance he would go to you. Although he will want to buy Crouch, Defoe, and will want money to buy the players he wants - not who Llambias tells him to buy. There's Warnock, Hughes, Schteve, and possibly Di Matteo (but i doubt he would go to Newcastle). With names like that, you would best be trying to get in Poyet. But then again, he might want to stay at Brighton as he's doing quite well with them.

And lastly, think about your chairman. He wont pay out 7 years of contract for Pardew. You're stuck with him for at least the next 5 years.

Whilst I hope we don't get rid of Pardew, I don't think Ashley's naive enough to give anyone an 8 year contract without the necessary clause/clauses to enable him to get rid without having to to stump up the remaining money on the duration of the contract.

Indeed. He will have a get out clause, I think the 8 year contract was more of a PR exercise promoting stability. I too hope we retain him and give him time. I like the way Poyets sides play football if not.

Agree. <ok> But failing either of those two happening, I'd vote for Norma Snockers!
