Ahh those were the days...pub crawl down Chiswick High Road, starting in the Old Packhorse and ending in the pub on the corner of Hammersmith roundabout (can´t remember the name but not the IRA pub). Getting in the Palais having a top night dancing to Kool and the Gang and trying to grab the attention of the backing singers of ´Luna Park´. Tensions running high at the end of the night nearly always fighting going on outside....stagger to the N97 bus stop via the burger place nearby.
Sunday morning up at 9.00 to play footie over Dormers Wells. Those were the dayzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz RIP HP

Oh it was you was it? ... I always used to ignore the groupies ... Wasn't you the one who danced a little stiff?

Get your Mobiles and Laptops out ... it's in-play time:

My first trip to London in the 80s I went to the National(?) in Kilburn. Mayhem! Drunken Paddies everywhere. How I got out alive I still don't know.

I remember being in there many, many years ago.

It is all a hazy alcoholic blur.

Dormers wells...500 or so from my house.....so you must have played against Milford Rangers, Sandgate etc...?

The barmaid who worked for my old man in our pub was the admin sec when it became "Le Palais" so every week for 6 years or so I was comp on the guest list plus 9.

    free night out every Saturday.

before then, back in the days of the old palais, orig it was the biggest dance floor in London, had the revolving stage and then became a notorious haunt for some very seedy characters.
spent many nights in there pissed, then getting a cab from the burger bar just on the corner & debating where we were gonna "run the cabbie" from...Ravenor park a favourite!!
Also worked the door in The Clarendon (remember it?), which used to be just across the road on the roundabout. dodgy pub but some ok live bands. Always a laugh and then the short stroll to the golden gloves...
    Happy days!
