http://www.thisishullandeastriding....tory-18275232-detail/story.html#axzz2QoCRIW25 this is the link to the original entries, the winner is the half-blue/half-green flag with the white rose in the centre. The blue representing the North Sea and the green symbolising the fertile agricultural land. Although, I would have swapped them round so they are geographically correct.......
I can see why it won looking at the other entries , I would have gone for Black and Amber with the White Rose
Really can't see the point. It's like going to other countries in Europe where there's a different flag on every corner. Sure, I'm proud of where I come from but I don't have to have a flag behind me other than the Union flag, Cross Of St George or Hull's three crowns (even though I live outside Hull). Still, what's the Euro mantra - divide and rule isn't it?
Perhaps we can put ****ing Humberside to bed for good, especially if both Hull and East Yorkshire councils accept it and fly it alongside there respective flags
Don't forget the Hull Army fought on the Lancastrian side in the War of the Roses, whilst down South most of them were on the White Rose side.
Last time I looked the North Sea off the Holderness coast was muddy brown like the Humber Estuary. Some colour tweaking needed I think.
