Sonny Bill wouldnt beat snow of a rope, big fat slow man. Anyways double B he is an exception as he boxes pro, we are talking bout average ball players. I have no more interest in this debate anyways so Goodluck guys. All the best

Edit: please note I am joking and have ultimate respect for Rugby players as i do for any sporting people who dedicate their lives to their sports.

The 3 things that define athleticism are strength, agility, and endurance. Messi is the best footballer in the world, whilst Dan Carter is probably the best Rugby player. Dan Carter is clearly stronger, were as Messi clearly has more agility. I'd also say Messi would have more endurance, and be the all round fitter guy. There is no way Dan Carter would keep up with Messi if they had a race, over a short distance, or a long distance. I would even go as far as to say I'd be pretty confident that Messi would beat Dan Carter in every single physical exercise that didnt involve strength:biggrin:

I'd be pretty confident that you are wrong. Have you even watched Dan Carter play?

So you think Dan Carter could beat Messi in an agility test, or he would have more stamina? No chance if you ask me.

I remember them putting Ronaldo through his paces in physical tests with an Olympic sprinter, and he wooped the Olympic sprinter on the agility tests:biggrin:

I doubt he'd be more agile but fitness wise very possibly. He's also 6ft and Messi is 5ft 4 is he not so there's a huge advantage in most physical tests.

Olympic sprinters run in straight lines don't they? I'd be surprised if they ever focus on agility.

Messi would win on short distance contests, Cater on longer, have a look at Messi's thighs, he's built for short bursts of energy
