It's time for payback so I'm hoping the players, and manager back up their words with actions on Saturday.

Mathieu Debuchy: Newcastle will wipe out derby shocker

MATHIEU DEBUCHY insists shell-shocked Newcastle will respond to Sunday’s shocking derby defeat.

The Magpies were dumped out of the Europa League on Thursday then suffered a humiliating home reverse at the hands of their rivals, but Debuchy is convinced they will recover, starting at West Brom on Saturday.

“We don’t have a choice, we’ve got some important matches coming up and that starts next weekend,” said the France international. “We need to get to work and make sure we’re up for it and we will start at The Hawthorns.

“It’s very difficult to lose a match like that, a derby. For a few of us it was our first derby, we know it was a very important game for the club and the fans, so we’re very disappointed.

Debuchy and his Newcastle team-mates were left shell-shocked after losing at home to Sunderland 3-0

“We would have preferred to have gone out there and won to make sure we had a bit more space between ourselves and the bottom, but we’re going to go out there and fight until the end. We have great character in the dressing room and this week we will get down to work and make sure we win as many games as we can until the end of the season.”

Debuchy says he accepts fans are suffering from Sunday’s loss.

He said: “I can understand it’s very difficult for them, but it’s also very difficult for us to take a 3-0 setback like that. But I just want to tell them that we really need their support, it’s really important for us.”

Hope so. The reaction I want, we'll have to wait till the next match to find out for sure.

Talk is cheap, memories of Jonas insisting the team has to do better linger in my memory.

As we have found out time and time again this season, talk is cheap.

Not to rub it in, but we in the past have suffered from a problem at LB and it has taken several seasons for us to get Danny Rose and I hope we can hang onto him. I thought HBA looked good for you when he came on and overall Sess had a good game for us. However the worst player on the pitch by a mile (although at times McClean can fit that bill) was Jonas, he must have something on your manager to get picked.

Bump this thread if we win on Saturday because that is the reaction I want to see and nothing less. I would take a draw but I want to see it on the pitch, words mean **** all.

For me, it's a good win or nothing. They are more than capable of delivering a big performance now it's over to them, no excuses.
