OT The Boston Marathon

Sky News reporting two explosions at the finishing line at the Boston Marathon, many injuries, already incendiary devices are being assumed, I do hope this is not the case, perhaps a gas explosion or something, horrible to think it might be deliberate.

 

This is absolutely harrowing, just hope there are very few casualties/deaths.

 

Awful. Truly terrible, especially if deliberate. All those people raising money for charity then this happens to them.

 

New York now on major terror alert.

 

Its unbelievable and unfathomable to think someone could deliberately do this to fellow human beings. People out to help others as well. Really puts into perspective some of our moans and groans (and I don't mean football, but the things we get hung up about day to day).

"reports are coming in, finding backpacks that haven't exploded yet..3 confirmed deaths..."

Really, really hope this isn't true!

 

A lot of sick people in the world. What on earth can they get from this kind of thing?

 

I don't know how people can even fathom doing something like this. I cant understand how people can hurt others like this.

The sad thing is that it does work though. Every attack changes our society, whether its building hatred, taking away freedoms, or just building fear. Thats what they want. Tho for the life of me I can't see how anyone wins in all of this!

Not yet. Could even be domestic with the way things are at the min. They've just confirmed a 3rd bomb at a different location has gone off too. Doesn't look good

Got to bring the death penalty back for some things, it might make some people think twice before carrying out their callous acts.

 

I know where you're coming from, but these people are so twisted I don't think it would make any difference. America has the death penalty and Timothy McVey (Oklahoma bomber) actually wanted the death penalty to become a martyr. It wouldn't be much of a deterrent to suicide bombers either. These people are so sick and twisted i don't know what would work.

 

Here we go again.
Another load of cowards bringing death and destruction to innocent people.
Regardless of politics, religion or whatever, moone can condone such mindless, cowardly and barbaric actions.

I remember, when 9/11 went down, my reaction was, "Well, I've had it with humanity."

But I was wrong. I don't know what's going to be revealed to be behind all of this mayhem. One human insect or a poisonous mass of broken sociopaths.

But here's what I DO know. If it's one person or a HUNDRED people, that number is not even a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a percent of the population on this planet. You watch the videos of the carnage and there are people running TOWARDS the destruction to help out. (Thanks FAKE Gallery founder and owner Paul Kozlowski for pointing this out to me). This is a giant planet and we're lucky to live on it but there are prices and penalties incurred for the daily miracle of existence. One of them is, every once in awhile, the wiring of a tiny sliver of the species gets snarled and they're pointed towards darkness.

But the vast majority stands against that darkness and, like white blood cells attacking a virus, they dilute and weaken and eventually wash away the evil doers and, more importantly, the damage they wreak. This is beyond religion or creed or nation. We would not be here if humanity were inherently evil. We'd have eaten ourselves alive long ago.

So when you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance or fear or just garden-variety misogyny, hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye and think, "The good outnumber you, and we always will."
