Hi All and welcome to the official Not606 chat for all things on the Monaco Grand Prix, The Blue Ribbon event on the F1 Calandar. I have a feeling this is going to be a classic even for Monaco as Tire wear is durely going to cause havock and weather or not DRS will play a role. Also Hispania maybe protesting over the blown diffuser (and rightly so) so it will be interesting to see what happens there. Monaco Grand Prix Monte Carlo, 27-29 May Thursday 26 May: Practice one - 0900-1030; Practice two - 1300-1430 Saturday 28 May: Practice three - 1000-1100; Qualifying - 1300-1400 Sunday 29 May: Race - 1300 (BBC Times) El_Bando PS - The Spanish GP chat was our biggest total of comments and views for 1 singular thread on the F1 board so thank you for your contributions

Can't wait for the Monaco Grand Prix! So glad it's only a few days away - F1 needs to be like this more often! As I explained in an earlier post, Ferrari have some interesting developments coming, according to Jose Luis, who is a very reliable source. Can't wait to see how the new rules affect the racing - particularly Pirelli, as I feel that's where the race will be won or lost - through strategy. Rain could mix things up even more. I can't wait!
The annual snorefest is upon us, by what lap will I fall asleep, and will I wake up with dribble on my top?
The last few races at Monaco haven't been all that bad. I'm missing Kubica this weekend as he drives very well at the prinicipality.I think Webber can get back to back wins for Red Bull this time, he drove a flawless race there last year.
Two-stop strategies should be possible in Monaco, according to Paul Hembery, reports Autosport. He also says the prime will be the preferable race tyre but qulifying times will be set on the options - so there will be a full complement of qualifying runs. please log in to view this image
Not necessarily edge of seat race - but oh! what a place and scenery. We have space in the calendar for it, rather better than looking out on sand.
Where've you been? Goan' pick a number, would you? Yes, Monaco is a car parade - rich, beautiful people drinking champagne while expensive, beautiful cars roar through the streets in qualifying order. But perhaps not this year, eh? It begins... please log in to view this image
HRT will make a complaint after quali, everyone will have their times excluded, so HRT will start pole. Karthickayen will hold everyone up while Liuzzi flys off into the distance. He holds them up so well that Liuzzi is able to catch the rest of the field which all get blue flags, he makes his way to the front, and lets karthikeyan through, and the roles are reversed. when the pits are due the first car gets a 40 sec lead and pits. a 1-2 for HRT. As for the scenery, I lived on the med for about 15 years, in far more scenic places, it's just an upmarket small version of benidorm.
Ok guys here is my track guide: Monaco Track Guide: Turn 1(Ste Devote) - An easy 2nd gear corner you would think, but its hardly. Tight on the exit as you are very close to the barrier so if you want to overcome a lap of Monaco.. finish this corner safely first. please log in to view this image Turn 2(Massenet) - Entry is tight 3rd gear I think so middle speed corner but then it gets harder as the middle of the corner has a bump or ripple in the barrier which is why I prefer a bit of understeer mid corner to wash the front of the car out. Turn 3(Casino) - Easy enough just brake and I think you don't do a downshift but maybe just 1 gear down. You miss the bump on the exit going into Mirabeau Haute Turn 4(Mirabeau Haute) - Get it slowed down connect with the rain gutter and try and get on the power as early as the hairpin comes up quick. Turn 5(Grand Hotel Hairpin) - Slowest corner of the calender. Full lock. 1st gear. 35 MPH. please log in to view this image Turn 6(Mirabeau Bas) - The kerb is quite high so the car will jump a bit. Just another stop and go corner really. Turn 7(Portier) - Senna got it wrong here in 88 as he pushed so hard to the limit so his steering wheel came out.A barrier comes up on the exit of Mirabeau Bas which youve got to avoid going into turn in for Portier. Turn 8 and 9(Nouvelle Chicane) - Get it really slowed down after comeing out of the first real straight of the lap. 2nd gear clump those kerbs and get early on the power. Turn 10(Tabac) - Great corner you approach it at around 170mph and at the exit your probably around about 135mph. Not a chance for overtaking or to relax. please log in to view this image Turn 11 and 12(Louis Chiron) - 110 mph of pure commitment. Miss the apex then your in trouble as Nico found out in 08. please log in to view this image Turn 13(La Rascasse) - Champions have got it wrong there. Schumacher in 06 and Raikkonen in 07. Tricky corner as the kerb is quite wierd. Turn 14(Anthony Noghes) - Swing it into this corner the kerb on the exit is very tight and high and will cost you traction so avoid that kerb and just drive to the line. Onboard Lap 2010 - Robert Kubica - Renault - 1:14:120
I'm still voting Ed Miliband that cheers PMC General question: What is the name of Turn 1? PMC calls it "Ste Devote", but on here it says Sainte Devote
