Fan Stabbing Update: Everton V QPR April 15, 2013 AN EVERTON fan was stabbed when he rushed to the rescue of a woman seen arguing with a man believed to be an away supporter The fan, 20, was walking along Priory Road, Anfield, after the Blues and Queens Park Rangers match when he saw a scuffle and tried to intervene. But the man â whom he described as a QPR supporter â plunged a blade into his chest. The attack happened minutes after the end of the Bluesâ 2-0 victory at Goodison. The victim was rushed to hospital and given emergency treatment for a punctured lung. Today, detectives urged the woman who was seen arguing with the man to come forward to help find the attacker. It is understood they were working on the basis the attacker was a QPR supporter. At this stage, it is unclear whether the woman was with the knifeman or was local. The supporter told friends via social media he âknows for a factâ his attacker was an away supporter and that he intervened because he couldnât stand by and watch the man âput his hands on a femaleâ. He tweeted that he was âtrying to shop him kicking off on a birdâ before he âstabbed meâ. He added he had âjust done what anyone else would haveâ. The supporter was being bombarded by twitter messages urging him a speedy recovery from his injuries. Friends who rushed to the hospital tweeted that they were taking him magazines, chocolates and biscuits. He is now recovering at home but has been told by doctors he must rest up in bed for a week. Merseyside Police Detective Sergeant Steve Reardon said they were keen for witnesses of the attack, which took place at the junction of Priory Road and Walton Lane, to come forward. DS Reardon added: âThis incident happened straight after the Everton vs QPR match and there were a lot of people in the area. âI believe people would have witnessed this incident and I would urge them to come forward. I am also keen to speak to the woman who was seen arguing with the offender, prior to the assault. âShe may have vital information that could assist with our enquiries.â Anyone with information should contact Merseyside Police 0151 777 4065 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
I wish the Everton fan a speedy recovery. It would still seem unclear as to whether or not it was an actual QPR fan that carried out this horrific act. Let's hope not.
Shame about both attacks and great the guy lived. Obviously a total nut job. Hope when they catch up with the assailant it turns out he's not an R. We don't need stuff like that on our already blighted rep. If it was a fan coming out of the match, the fact he would've got in tooled up is a bit worrying in this day and age.
How do you implement Cerny? Does he need installing, or is it a manual process? DT has implicated him well enough, though....
I thought you were an ex pat. I don't know why I thought that because I know Swedish, German and Dutch people who all speak and type better than 90% of Brits. The only exception is for some reason swedes type whit instead of with. Is Oslo Norwegian?
I thought you were the same person when I first joined up, you always seemed to have the opposite opinion to me but I knew I was wrong this season because you don't mention park at all.
He indeed is ex-pat, a rarity among our Scandinavian posters on here. Hmm, I'm having a few issues here...... Can't get the damn thing to post at all and then wham, all three appear.
Bringing us back to topic, I hope that this scumbag is not an R. Either way, I hope they bang the **** up for a good stretch. All the best to the Toffee fan.
Best wishes to the Everton fan, not what you want to hear at all from any football fan doing something like this. Scary that someone would carry a knife to a football match. Clearly not there for the match.
Haha, funny you feel that way as you are probably one of the posters I agree mostly with on this site. Must be that you are fun to argue with and good for a challenge Me and Oslo get along very well and share many beliefs about the R's. It's just that I don't have the same problem with Park as Oz does Anyway, back to topic. Hope this is not the doing of an R and all the best to the toffee fan.
The mindset is one of violence and the football is just a vehicle to meet that blood lust/ primal, neanderthal need. Sadly, whichever team has been latched onto gets tarnished. Fair play to the Everton fan for not just dropping his head and walking past - never deserved that for his decency. Hope he makes a speedy and full recovery. Hope the knife-wielding prick rots in hell.
Mmmmh, Flyer is probably the Poster I disagree with most on here Norway! Park is a pensioned off has been. But to be honest that was about his best game for us Saturday, he was actually involved 1st half and contributed to a couple of goal chances. Ok he screwed up a couple times too, disappeared again 2nd half, and rightly got taken off, but still he seemed a bit quicker and sharper than he has been. Wasn't difficult! Maybe he will be a possible back-up player if we do go down. I am a sour old In Pat by the way. and I'd love Park to go to Norwich. I also like to wish whever got hurt a quick and great recovery. That and news from Wembley and Newcastle made this a very bad weekend.
