mito - had to re-read your post, wasn't sure who the Ego was, as the chavs have had so many of them on their bench, some of whom were even the manager, and a few who were actually employed as the manager...
rafa is the ego, torres is his mini me ego. Rafa blew it with us by thinking he could fight G&H and be untouchable. the then blew it ant inter and has mouthed on for a couple of years. we really must be a bit naive if we think FSG even thought to approach him or if he sent his agent to go get the job back. I'd say there was never even a moment before kenny got a 3 year deal when rafa was even considered! torres has had the most spectacular rise to greatness any bench warmer could have. why he added more medals form the bench than anyone since peggy arpexaud.
Rodgers going for Reading Keeper Source:http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/media-watch/clubcall-keeper-linked-with-reds Source:Club call. Liverpool could target a move for Reading goalkeeper Alex McCarthy following his heroics against the Reds at the weekend. McCarthy, who had only just returned to the Royals side following a lengthy lay-off with a shoulder injury, pulled off a number of world-class save to deny Liverpool and earn his side a point in a goalless draw. Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers was full of praise for the goalkeeper after the game and predicted that one day he will go right to the top and also represent England. Rodgers is also known to be on the look out for a new goalkeeper after being linked with Swansea's Michel Vorm and Stoke stopper Asmir Begovic, but he could now turn to McCarthy. Reading will do all they can to keep hold of the youngster but could struggle if they lose their battle to stay in the Premier League. Arsenal and Manchester United are also on the look out for a new goalkeeper and McCarthy may be inundated with offers in the summer.
Lazy journalism. Rogers comes out for praise for a goalkeeper after having a good game. Press keep saying how we need a new keeper. Put 2 & 2 together and come out with 17
