Hi Leeds fans. Im doing a match thread for our final game of the season and would like to have one of you guys view on the season; what you expected before it started, how its gone overall, highlight/lowlight. Could you just write a short paragraph for me that i might use in the thread, you will get full credit for the work and i will be very grateful. I know the season isnt over just yet, so you dont have to do it right now. So long as i have it by the 28th so i can add it and post, that will be great. Many thanks Babyhornetdan.
I'm sure you will have plenty who will take you up on the offer Dan Failing that, PM me closer to the time if your still struggling & I will do it for you.
Bucks, FFs, I thought his name was Babyhorn, but it's baby hornet...jaysus for a second there I was getting worried....
The seasons gone exactly as I expected poor tactics from day one and leaving burnley away I feared relegation, warnocks tactics are fit for league one hoof hoof defend 1 goal leads
It's been a rollercoaster. Start of the season I thought I was going to be filthy rich, but those Bahrainis turned out not to have a pot to piss in. I had to accept a measly £32 million for the club. Of course, Warnock going has been a bit of a tonic. I'm seeing out my last few weeks at the helm chuckling at David and Saleem as they run round like headless chickens calling everyone from Nigel Adkins to Sven Goran Eriksson. Yeah - Sven - I **** you not! Of course the Melvyn Levi court case was a bit of a struggle, and I'm not best pleased with the OFCOM ruling this week, but I supppose it could have been worse. Those sneaky Bahrainis nearly dobbed me in to the tax man when they did their due diligence and found out what I'd been up to. If it hadn't been for Shaun's quick thinking and another £2.5 million off the asking price it'd have been chokey for me and no mistake. On the whole a positive season though. At least I managed to cash out before the relegation.
How do This has been the worst Leeds team I've seen since I started going to Elland Road 15 years ago. Even in League 1 we had the likes of Snograss, Howson, Beckford and Becchio, but today we have an absolute dearth of quality. It has also been the worst season I can remember in the Championship. Although it's a much more exciting league than the Premiership, the quality of football is largely dreadful and whoever goes up will go back down again (sorry, Watford). If anything the gap between teh Championsgip and PL is getting wider. The season has ended on a slight uplift with the appointment of Brian McDermott, a fundamentally decent man and enlightened manager. He will make a refreshing change from Neil Warnock, an embarrassment of a man who is clearly 20 years behind the rest of football.
Dan I Reckon we may wait to add more comments because our optimism is changing under the new gaffer, we actually can play football would you believe and I noticed you lot are getting **** for some reason
Yeah, thats fine. I just want to keep this fresh in peoples minds as there are only 2 more games before i need to publish the thread and dont want to be making last min adjustments if possible. We are getting stick because we have been very clever and read the rules as written by FIFA, and found that we can sign as many loans from Udinese as we like, without reprecussions. Ian Holloway, who we all know cannot read, then went mad about it and now everyone is jumping on that band waggon without reading the rules.
I like the way you have done it. if there are ways round it then go for it, I much rather you do that and have the pleasure of watching some exciting players than what Cardiff have done and become so money making load of bollox
Thanks YBH, thats what we have been saying too. We would rather have the financial security of doing it this way, than throw millions of pounds we dont have at the project. Then when it fails we are left with a huge crippling debt and uncertainty over our future. This way we have gotten some fantastic young talent (Vyrda, Anya, Forestieri) and an wise old owl (Cassetti) without the risk. Furthermore, we would never be able to progress as a club, without this. We would be forced to sit in the middle of the championship for years whilst we work at making a profit. Cardiff on the other hand are loosing £1,000,000+ per day on top of their £80,000,000+ debt already amassed and if they had not gone up they would be stuffed due to the FFP rules set to come in next season. They have also lost all their history and their identity just so their owners have a bit of fun. They are a play-thing for the owners and when they are bored they will drop Cardiff and move on, leaving Cardiff high and dry in desperate need of investment.
