Right, time to get back to the job in hand. Line-up: Stockdale. Chester. Faye. Hobbs. Elmo. Meyler. Fathi. Quinn. Brady. Boyd. Simpson. Subs: Jako. Rosie. Cairney. Wilson. Koren. Fryatt. Prossy. We are thin on the ground with players. With Evans suspended it came down to Wilson or Dawson as the 7th sub.
I'd go with your line up there, except Wilson is on loan at Grimsby for the remainder of the season so I'd stick Clarkson/Emerton/McCaffery whoever has been smashing it in the youth set up. Imagine the experience of being promoted on your debut appearance, they'd love it. Plus the youth team seem to do so well and get such little reward - I didn't even think Wilson was the best of that years crop, but fair play to him for making a go of it.
I'd make the one change, which is forced anyways - Fathi for Evans. ---------Stockdale ----Chester Faye Hobbs Elmo Meyler Fathi Quinn Brady --------Boyd Simpson Subs: Jakupovic, Rosey, Dawson, Cairney, Koren, Fryatt, Prozzie
Providing injuries/fitness is as expected - then you are basically looking at Evans role, and Simpsons role.
As long as non of them in your first eleven picked up knocks yesterday, I think this will be the first eleven.
Good post John, I'd play Gedo in place of Simpson, give the lad a rest and he and Koren could come on in the second half.
I'm more concerned that the attitude of the players is right on Tuesday than whatever team Bruce puts out. City have had a bad habit of becoming complacent every time we've got in a good position this season and this time we have to be ruthless and twist the knife. On Tuesday we'll get no favours or respect from a team fighting to stay up. If we're going to win we have to win the physical battle and want it more.
That would be my line up, assuming Gedo will be rested for the Bristol game. That's an awesome MF five...I'd play Fathi on Elmos side though as they are used to each others play and combine well together like Quinn and Brady.
Gedo's not expected to be available for Tuesday, so I'd go for the team above, with Fathi switched for Koren for the Brizzle game.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Wolves are without; Sako, Ebanks-Blake and O'Hara? If, and I'm fairly certain, that's the case, we have a real good chance of winning. I'd penciled this one as a draw, but it's difficult not to hope for a win now.
I just don't see Dean Saunders as being either canny enough or a good enough motivator to get Wolves really fired up. They've been lolling around down there for ages now so all this dangerous wounded animal fighting for survival crap just doesn't wash with me. We'll take them. They'll be cacking it and the crowd will turn if we score first or if we get to half an hour at 0-0. I have faith that in the next 4 games we'll see the real value of SB's appointment.
The fact that Wolves are missing what is probably their best 3 players, Ebanks-Blake, Sako and O'Hara, are missing, gives us better chance of getting all 3 points than before.
