Yes, there were several occasions where, under pressure, he passed the ball across the face of the goal to a defender instead of playing safety first and booting it up the pitch.

I admire the way he plays the game and he was brilliant entertainment against Reading.
It always feels risky with a keeper has the ball with a player closing them down as we've all seen what can happen when things go wrong, but the reality is a keeper should have several potential passing options to him an aimless hoof or a kick out the stands should be a last resort

I prefer a keeper not to play us into trouble...the ground was wet...the ball could have run slickly or got stuck. When in doubt, long ball into touch giving them a throw in away from immediate danger.

Boruc is a two footed player. Almost all keepers are one footed. It gives him more angles to clear or pass the ball that's why he leaves it later than some keepers.

Chilco hits the nail on the head, it was bloody windy along with all that rain, did you see how the hoof balls die in the air, did we notice how most of the corners went astray?

Always kicks it into touch anyway, whatever foot he uses

There were 44 crosses (open and set play) from Saints and West Ham and only 8 found there intended target. A generally poor effort from both teams, but I'm sure the weather played it's part as well.

I had to look on the BBC today to see if Jarvis had played, totally ineffective

United and Stoke were having similar problems today. Light ball plus significant wind equals ugly crossing and set pieces.

It was hilarious when RVP was trying to take a corner and he had to dig a hole to put the ball in. The same nearly happened when he took the penalty too. They should have a special heavy ball for windy games.

Credit to him for burying that penalty as he did...after watching it simply rolling away ten seconds earlier, I'd be too conscious of the possibility that I'd end up putting my foot through air to make solid contact.

I am happy he does what he does, with the exception of when he delivers a bouncing pass to Jos. they are more than capable of passing the ball 15 yards passed an attacker. If it was anywhere else on the pitch we'd be moaning if they just knocked it. Passing a ball is a very simple, basic skill that they should be able to do on 20k a week.

Keep passing it please Boruc, just on the floor not a Barnes Wallace at Jos.

I don't want us to give possession back needlessly to the opposition.
