Well, they were going to win one eventually. They needed it a lot more than we did, and we just looked physically and mentally strained.

Our defending for the goals was shocking, but the last two were great strikes.

Pardew is a ****ing idiot for getting the likes of Sissoko to play 90 mins twice a week. He looks completely drained of energy.

Playing Jonas at LB was a mistake. He's been on his last legs Stamina wise for this last season, and we play him at LB again!

Every single Sunderland corner a Sunderland player was sharper than us, and Krul just managed to keep out two of them.

    Ratings -

Krul - 6 - Great save at one point to deny Cuellar. Hope he is ok.

Debuchy - 5 - In Rose's back pocket pretty much all game. Some good running and attacking though, and some great tackles.

Mbiwa - 5 - Not tight enough to Sunderland players, and got turned too easily.

    Saylor - 6 - Not bad.

Jonas - 3 - Dreadful passes and touches, just poor.

Tiote - 4 - Pissing about with the ball and some ****ing stupid overpowered passes as usual. He was good at the start, then became his usual self after.

Marveaux - 5 - Some good attacking, good play on the ball, but couldn't quite make impact.

    Cabaye - 4 - Struggled.

Sissoko - 4 - Why the **** was he on the wing? He's just completely knackered.

Cisse - 5 - Had a goal disallowed. Some good runs, just couldn't quite get a bit of luck.

HBA - 4 - Triple marked, couldn't make impact. After 2-0 he was just basically trying to be a hero.

MOTM - Rose - Fair play to him, he's an excellent player.

Overall - Gutted, but I'm not surprised. They didn't HAVE to win, but they really need the points.

Tactically, we're just not there. We haven't been able to cope with Europa this season.

We looked devoid of ideas again, the sunderland players were a yard quicker to everything and showed more passion than our lads. Have to agree that Gutierrez was very poor and shoal was a bystander when he came on.

No attacking game plan as usual under Pardew, the new players we signed that looked great at the start look poor already due to Pardew's horrendous tactics and lack of gameplan, we are going absolutely nowhere under this clown and we need to be thinking about a new manager in the close season in my honest opinion. He hasn't got a ****ing clue.

I'd agree with a lot of your points there Tash. I'd have rated Mbiwa a little higher than Saylor today, but to be fair as a team we just weren't good enough. Its not an excuse, especially in a derby, but certain players are starting to show that we have relied on them too much.

Taylor not bad he was ****e he should have given them a clear pen for that shirt pull. and on their first goal he was not tight enough for me, Mbiwa was the better of the two. which is not really saying much tbf.

Tiote looks like he lost his confidence every time he has the ball the crowd sound ready to expect a mistake.

Guti - hardly worth even mentioning like his performance.

HBA - is just to greedy at times tried to do everything himself by the time he came on the game was getting away from us.

Rest seem pretty accurate to me. I heard we have played 4 games in the last 10 days I didn't even realise it was so many just getting caught up into trying to get to the semis. on the other hand they had a week to prepare so we were defo up against it from the start but now were out of the Europa it has to stop being a reason for poor performances otherwise we are going to get sucked back into this relegation battle.

It's a damning indictment of our season to say that I saw this coming so I feel resigned to it – not the scoreline, granted but I fancied Sunderland today.

The headlines for PDC were already written, it was never going to be a good day for us.

That said, we aided it with a typically sluggish and lightweight effort from the first minute to the last, quite what has happened to the whole squad this term is baffling.

The sad thing for me though is that it has sounded the death knell for Pardew.
He won't be jilted straightaway but not even Keegan could resolve himself of a 0-3 defeat to Sunderland, no chance.

It's over for him now and just a matter of time. Shame though as I like him and we need to keep managers not keep sacking...

We REALLY had to win Tash. We desperately needed the points, and the fact they came from Newcastle is what alot of the SAFC fans will find the sweetest. Wigan still have 2 games in hand, we need to pull away from them as much as possible. Overall a good assessment. I thought Krul was better than a 6 until he got injured. That save from Carlos was excellent and kept you in it.

Shola made no difference to anything whatsoever today. I suppose he's done his fair share in the past but did bugger all this afternoon. Jonas ****e as well, and with krul's injury this day has been a disaster. Could have been so different if the cisse goal had stood, and you can't legislate for goals like they produced, all great strikes. Still at least it wasn't 1-5 though
We were due a derby loss sooner or later, we're still in a good position to stay up.

As long as Jonas , Shola and Tiote are gone in the summer I don't really care tbh.

We need a draw next week badly. The remaining fixtures are difficult, I hope QPR are down by the time we play them and hopefully we might be able to scrape something down there.

Have no illusions we are really in the mire and there are more teams down there with more fight and guts than us. Whenever we are pressed like today we ****ing crumble like cards.

Would agree, your players looked a bit jaded mate but you have a big squad, bigger than ours for sure and remember, that wasn't our starting 11, that was a make shift team. I think it came down to desire more than anything.

    Saying that.

Saylor - 6 - Not Bad? I thought Sessegnon made him look old and slow, he carried his luck a bit as well.

Cisse? needs to learn the offside rule, he wasted a **** load of good quallity through passes cos he couldn't keep onside. Probably influenced the decision to dissallow a perfectly good goal which would have had you right back in it.

Krul? don't think he had to do too much to save from Quella, it was right at him. Hope he's OK though, looked like a nasty fall that.

I'm not trying to make excuses, I'm just saying that we looked physically and mentally tired, mainly due to Europe. I aint taking it away from you that you deserved to win.

Strangely enough we had 67% of the ball.

Not saying you were mate, just didn't agree with your Saylor quote to be honest. Time for a replacement in the summer?

    Ratings -

Krul - 6 - Yeah good save, but maybe should have done better for Sausage's goal. It was so slow and he didn't launch himself at it, just kind of fell to one side. Disappointed with that.

Debuchy - 4 - Pretty ineffective all game.

Mbiwa - 3 - What a terrible game this young man had. He did some decent bursts, but Graham tore him a new one. GRAHAM. Out-muscled and lost nearly every header.

Saylor - 4 - Thought he was quite bad today. The defence was a mess.

Jonas - 1 - Hands down worst Jonas performance. Ok he's at left back, but I'm not going to bump him because he should have played better. Destroyed down the flank, gave the first goal away with a very loose pass, just one of the many terrible bits of play he instigated.

Tiote - 5 - Thought he was average, not poor. He came deep, passed pretty well, it was the lethargy of the other midfielders that made some of his passes look bad.

Marveaux - 6.5 - Best player for us. He couldn't do it all by himself, looked like that was his task though. The rest were hopeless.

Cabaye - 3 - There defo won't be a riot when he's sold. Ineffective and lethargic. Maybe he's still got those demons, because his head is all over the place judging by his performances.

    Sissoko - 3 - Ineffective and lethargic.

Cisse - 4 - Pretty woeful to be honest. Offside again. The goal was harsh on him, but I don't think he or we deserved a goal to be honest.

HBA - 5 - Thought he was carrying a threat, tried to be a creative genius, but the rest were turgid and ****.

MOTM - Rose - Agreed on this. Fabulous player!

Pardew - 2. Out thought easily. His predictable style was easily countered by DiCanio, and the idiot had no idea what to do. The back four passed it to each other 8,000,000 times, but we had no penetration whatsoever for a home-side. It was obvious that playing the way we have the last 7 or so games would be tactically picked up on by someone, shame it was Sunderland. Worst performance of the season hands down, and if you can't get them up for that game, you HAVE to go.

Newcastle are 23 points worse off than this time last year. Europa cannot be blamed for that massive difference.

I thought Newcastles tactics were strange today. A bad week for the mAgs which they need to recover from quickly. Us well you'd like to think a bit of momentum but tough fixtures to come and I think we need at least 6 points. Luckily our goal difference is as good as a point but we are by no means out of it!

The confidence from the first goal, which was absolutely deserved as Sunderland were the only one bothering to attack, spurred the players on, and to be honest gave them licence to score a couple of top-class goals. Has to be a big boost for the rest of the season as well, such a massive win. Mig celebrated massively, and no wonder.

The opposite effect for us I'm afraid.

We really needed the points and PDC had our lot up for it, you were favourites and you thought we were going to be easy. When the ref kept looking the other way when Taylor and co were fouling hand balling etc. And we did not get a deserved pen I began to think it was not our day. But the Lino came to our rescued when Cisse scored ( p.s. He is much better than Graham).

So we still need 6 points and you need 4, let's hope we both get them, I love derbys me!
