If results go our way on Tuesday and we could get promoted on Friday, do you think there could be a situation like Swansea in 2003 where people got locked out? Or will Sky put people off?
Depends on, like you've said, Sky. If we aren't on Sky - which would seem a ludicrous decision on their part - then the possibility of lockout could happen, but only if they make it pay-on-the-day like the Swansea match was. It's very unlikely though imo. Where the **** are those fans now? We've past the 20,000 mark about 4 times this season.
Couldn't you pay on the gate for that Swansea game though? Rekon if we can go up on Friday you won't be able to buy a ticket after 12pm if ticket sales are big or something like that. Im probably wrong on both points here ha ha.
Can't see many Bristol City fans coming up. We'll have the whole north stand next Friday, so if it doesn't sell out i'll be disappointed.
If it does sell out I'll be livid, where were all these so called fans earlier in the season when we had a couple of big defeats? So bloody annoying to see all the " we only come when its looking like promotion fans" Next Friday will bring em all out pretending they have supported City for years, bloody glory hunters.
This game will 100% not be pay at the gate but i agree.. Some guys i know who embarrasingly support liverpool have suddenly been saying 'come on city' KOREEEEN etc, sick of it..
If it does prove to be a sell out get there early. I still dont trust the season card readers at the turnstiles as i have inside info.
whats happened with the turnstyles again..early season problems seem to go, but against boro the ques where massive again..i expected it to be a massive crowd and it was only 17k
I personally don't understand why it takes so long for people to get in - I have got in near instantly on arrival at the turnstiles at every game. I would guess it has something to do with the system being slow due to the number of cards being 'signed in', so to speak.
The turnstiles in east nearest the away fans, goes smoothly all the time, it scans mine and accepts it in less then a second.. The big queues i notice are usually the other end of the east stand/south corner
The scanners are ****. They're so fussy. I always get in quickly but I can see why people have problems. Compared to the scanners in supermarkets which scan your barcodes they take ages.
Can't say too much but I know the lads who installed the cabling and apparently the link from the card readers to the control equipment is only 100Mbps instead of 1Gbps. Therefore this can slowdown the entry process. Multiply this by the number of simultaneous card swipes and everything takes a little longer.
I have only one had a problem going through the turnstiles in E7 with my pass that was the first home game of the season when I arrived later than I would normally. No problems since, perhaps its because I get to the ground about 1 hour before kick off.
It's not the cards, it the tickets. By the way the cabling shouldn't be a problem, if everyone turned up and scanned their tickets at the same time wouldn't the sum only be this. 20000x16x4. Scanxbitsxsend-check-send-confirm. = 128,000,000 or 1.28 seconds Or am I being thick?
I haven't had a problem once, its scanned it instantly every time, i can't see why anyone has any problem. The only problem is if hundreds turn up at the last minute all together, the answer is to come in earlier.
