That Palace forum from a couple of match threads ago is ****ing hilarious - you'd think they got a penalty and red card given against them every single match. The Watford forum posted earlier had one or two decent posters who wrote positively about us getting 6 points clear, but on the whole they were twats. The Watford fans on here are all good lads/lasses, at least they can take the banter when they dish it out (same for Cardiff fans).
In terms of fairness yes, but the playoffs are there for excitement and to make money and they do both of those things very well. If we didn't have these dramatic, all-or-nothing games football wouldn't be as exciting.
Agreed, the play offs revolutionized the Football League, without them there would be about 6 or 7 teams each year with nothing to play for in the last ten games, who would stop caring, decreased fan attendances, less income etc..... Clubs will never get rid of the play offs as it would ruin four or five teams each year.
****ing brilliant! "Hull are one of the WORST teams there are!!! How can they be 2nd?! They're constantly sh*te, yet still get lucky wins!! The only comfort is that they'll finish bottom next year." so so bitter... How can a team be constantly ****e, yet be 2nd? If that is true, how **** are the teams below us?
Here's another gem of bitterness and jealousy: "Genuinely think they make break the 'lowest points total' record. Worst team to finish in the top two for a number of years." ****ing hell, if we are the worst one for years, what the hell does the make them?
People will know me as a realist type bordering on pessimist however we wont blow this. We'll probably lose at Wulfs but beat Brizzle and Cardiff whilst I can see Watford losing on Tuesday. And contrary to most Id like to see Watford come up via the play-offs, simply cos I think they'll have no team next season and would be the division's whipping boys thus meaning we only have to better 2 other teams. Always thinking ahead....
Why do you think they'll have no team next season? I suspect they'll just sign most of their loans (as they started doing in January) unless any are ready to be in Udinese's first team squad.
Precisely that, I don't think they'll sign them. Udinese didn't loan players out to lose them, they loaned them out to get first team experience. And to be honest the only team from the play-offs who I think could do decent in the Prem would be Bolton. Lets face it, quality has been ****e this season which makes it all the more important we capitalise on it. I cant see the 3 relegated teams ever doing so poorly again. On another topic, I'm surprised we're 4th in the form table: http://www.footballformguide.net/form/npower-championship
It's not in the Pozzo's (believe that's how you spell it) interest to see Watford go back down though. I think only maybe 2 or 3 will be in contention at Udinese next season. They'd still struggle as it'd be the 2-3 strongest players (probably Abdi & Vydra). Also, worth noting that Cassetti will miss their game at Millwall (presumably just a one-match ban) who I thought was their best/one of their best players against us. They're also quickly running out of people who can play centre-back.
