The game today against S.S Sunderland highlighted what many have known throughout most of the season. We have a bunch of issues that need sorting. The squad in itself lacks depth and most of this depth are players of questionable quality. We carry little threat up front and the service to our front man is really poor, almost as if our creative part of the team are on strike. The manager is definitely a good man manager I give him that and is knowledgeable about the club but he couldn't prepare a game of Monopoly efficiently let alone a Premier League game. We need changes to the squad, we need excess playing staff moved on and replaced with the young guns we got coming along and we need new players too, at least 4 and I kid you not. I'm not saying replace the manager now but once a post season meeting has come about surely the top brass will take the season as a whole and make the decision to move forward with a manager to approach the game in a complete different manner. My head and heart tells me that Gus Poyet is the obvious and wisest choice as he can manage players on a personal level aswell as creating an effective strategy and on top of that his football is usually incredible to watch.

We need an entire new coaching staff in my opinion, most of all a replacement for Pardew, we are going absolutely nowhere under this man, I've been saying this almost all season, howay man its beyond a joke.

yeh, but not just Pardew. The injuries that have occurred this season is inexcusable and we need a new direction and I will pray we have one at the end of this forgettable season.

Get to the summer, survive by any means how then get rid of Pardew but it won't happen. The long ball merchantry is just disgusting. The team don't play as one and there is no sense of organisation or rhythm. Its just alot of huff and puff and we occassionally got lucky with late goals. The man is out of his element and he is on an eight year contract and of all the things our board has done it may be the worse. If Brighton don't go up, go for Poyet.

If we have a relegation battle coming I want Colo, Perch , Ben arfa for his brilliance but the likes of Jonas, Tiote, etc will are just ****ing liabilites.

Jonas - Needs to go. His legs aren't there anymore.

Striker - We need another striker, plus a better back up. Shola 3rd choice is ridiculous, never mind ****ing 2nd choice!

Plan B - Lob balls to Shola! Fantastic!

A proper defensive midfield player. We need someone that can break up play and just keep it simple. Tiote tries to over play things and is just pissing me off. We need to work on getting Tiote back to what he was, or just find someone more reliable.

Like a better version of perch.

We need someone, ANYONE that can ****ing cross!!! I rarely see a decent ball into the box from us. We should go after a quick winger with pace.

I agree with that Tash. I've never been Jonas' number one fan, and thought he should have been replaced after the championship season, where his lack of crossing technique and inability to successfully complete a pass over five-yards actually pissed most supporters off. Now he's just a slow player who can't cross or pass over 5 yards... Personally, I can't see any other team in the premier league ever wanting to employ him... except QPR <laugh>

I watched the Molde match yesterday against Sogndal, and a couple of players caught my eye in their team, even though they lost. Daniel Chima Chikwu is a beast, 21 years old and built like a tank. He has a decent first touch and the strength of two Tiote's. He reminded me of Didier Drogba. He's only 6ft or so, but a terrific target man.

However, his scoring record is a bit crap at the moment for a forward, but seeing how deep he was playing in the match, it's not surprising. He got one good chance to get a header in and jumped about 2 ft taller than anyone else.

Another player I thought was incredible was Magnus Wolff Eikrem. His range of passing was sensational. Cabaye's been shocking all season, but when he's at his best he's spraying wonderful passes all over the park with absolute precision, and that's what Eikrem is to Molde.

Obviously they aren't playing against rough and tumble premier league defences, but I think looking beyond France is imperative, and there's lots of potentially great players out there in the smaller leagues.

I'd agree with a proper root and brand inquest into the coaching, whether it be the staff or indeed the approach.

We've failed on basics all term in terms of retaining the ball, passing and certainly providing decent delivery into the box.
It's happening time and time again with every match and it's no nearer being resolved, so it has to be something not happening in training.

The big problem for me is the lack of Premier League experience through the team. When Steven Taylor is your most experienced player (who let's face it, can be slightly barmy) then there's a worry.

Where are the leaders? Where are the guys who are obvious captain material, that understand what a day like today meant?
Who will grab the guys by the throat and gee them up and frankly kick them up the proverbial when things are going AWOL on the pitch?

There's no one, because our transfer policy is far too preoccupied with making money. So obsessed with resale value that we undervalue mature, experienced fighters who can set an example.

The Nolans and Bartons of this world might not be pretty, but they'd run through a brick wall to WIN. These lot are too lightweight, too flaky when the pretty stuff ain't working...

Sad to say it but it seems like too much Gallic flair and not enough English grit.
