At uni we had a long narrow common room with a well polished floor and played a game called Shuvvers. It was basically indoor bowls using wooden discs with felt stuck to the bottom. The discs were pretty solid so that if you were standing about with a cup of coffee or sitting along the edge reading a newspaper any disc taken out at speed could do a bit of damage to unsuspecting ankles!
I have played indoor bowls, but that is mainly at exchange drinks nights, good fun and very competitive especially after a few beers! At RAF Halton they actually used to have a bowling green outside the Sgts Mess, we used to play during the summer months over a social one or seven, definite theme here, all alcohol related!?!
Not just in rugby training - on the field too! The only difference being that one uses a ball & the other doesn't.
Leonardo, not in my school lol...girls (the ones who played football in the playground with the boys generally) were definitely included
So H played footy and british bulldog in her ermmm formative years, explains why your such an ardent Footy fan H
I'm quite a fan of golf and table tennis, not nearly as much as football though As you were saying about positions, i'm a right back for watford youth sports under 18 (nothing to do with Watford themselves unfortunatly)
Hello george ,quite liked a bit of ping pong myself ! worked at RAF Benson and they had us there ready for a contract 2 weekd to early!!! 8 hrs a day table tennis for a couple of weeks was even more fun as we were getting paid!!
It was playground footie with a tennis ball, in those days girls weren't allowed to play proper footie...however much we nagged and pleaded! lol
My how times have changed. In Oz, the girls play playground footie with someone's head & you can usually see highlights on YouTube!
