Am I the only one who is getting frustrated by the way our tickets are being sold for away games, for example I've been to 6 away games this season, being from north Wales I can't get a season ticket, it's just not possible. Surely away tickets should be sold in a more fair way than just season ticket holders first. This is one of many games I can't go to now due to selling out to season ticket holders, frustrating!
I must admit that I have missed a few possible away games because it is so complicated, I would have made more effort if was easier, geting a bit too old for hassle.
I'm not a season ticket holder, and I certainly don't have money to go on Away trips, but what kind of scheme would you suggest the club to adopt..? After all, there is a maximum allocation and these have to be presented to those for purchase who have committed themselves the most, i.e. season ticket holders. The fact that the allocation runs out just shows how well Saints are doing, how committed certain fans are, and how relatively well off some fans must be [or they're not paying the bills]. Tbh, I can't see a fairer way of doing things. Clearly, what is needed is a bigger Away ticket allocation.
Yeah, I'm in a similar position to you Craig. Was looking forward to the Swansea game as it is relatively local to me and my girlfriend was going to get tickets for my birthday but I've had to wait and wait and now they're all gone. Frustrating.
Fully agree with you. I've been to Newcastle and Norwich (both bitterly cold days) along with Villa, West Brom and QPR and yet I'm near the bottom of the pecking order. It's not fair.
I'm having to face up to the reality that I might not be able to attend many away games next year as I'm going to have to give up my season ticket, balancing work and home games this year has been a total nighmare. Gutted about it as I really like my seat this year, and all the people near me are nice as well. Hopefully the club will take a few larger allocations next year based on the success of away sales this season.
How would you feel if you weren't able to attend many home games either? I understand why they prioritise season ticket holders, that's fine, but they prioritise season ticket holders far too much. They've had more than a week to umm and ahh about getting tickets for this game and I'd have bought them on day one if I had been able. As it is I miss out. How is that fair exactly? And how am I supposed to qualify for future away games (by buying tickets to away matches) if they make it this hard to get tickets? I've written to the club, not that I'm expecting it to have any effect.
As a season ticket holder I'm happy to get tickets for anyone who for whatever reason can not buy them as long as I am not going.
I'm sure the club will argue that away priority is part of the deal when you buy a season ticket. And it is probably a major reason for buying one to some people. Obviously there's no way they can make 5,000 people happy with 3,000 tickets, particularly at the business end of the season.
Maybe if people didn’t stream the games online and actually went to games, they would get away tickets.
I am a season ticket holder and have been really unimpressed with the away tickets scheme. If you didnt have a Man City away ticket you were screwed for next one and it goes on. The prices for away tickets are ridiculous and like alot of people I can't afford to go to every game or every other game. They go all on about loyalty points etc. What about those fans who have had ST for years and since ML & NC took control and have stuck by the club through League One travelling to the likes of Huddersfield and Gillingham (standing on an away stand with no roof in the pissing rain, getting behind the team) etc. Something should have been taken into consideration then. Anyway rant over!
BOOM...and a scheme is born. Next season we could do a thread where season ticket holders who would be happy to do this could advertise the fact. I'm sure most people would be happy to pay a bit of beer money on top of the ticket price for the help?
Not sure how that works. If everyone else watched on a stream I'd have my pick of any seat in the whole ground! Yeah this is a good idea, maybe I should have asked on here instead of just waiting with my fingers crossed. Setting up a formal scheme where the privileged people could offer to buy tickets for the rest of us seems like a win/win situation to me, one party gets a ticket and the other one gets those precious points (and maybe a little extra cash for their trouble). I can imagine the club would probably take a dim view of it though. I quite agree. I went to games last season but that counts for nothing. I'm not against ST holders getting some benefits, I just think it should be more balanced. It must be preferable for every fan to have the opportunity to go to at least one or two games a season than for every ST holder to go to every game, but that's the way it's weighted now.

Anyone know how many tickets we will get for Sunderland away?Thinking of flying over for it and don't particularly want to be in with the home fans like I was in Liverpool this year or Watford last year!
We've been over this before, but it's quite obvious to me that one's ability to get to matches does not equate to how big a fan they are. I get to as many as I can, and that's made harder by restrictive policies such as this. If I don't meet your criteria for 'deserving' a ticket then I'll have to respectfully disagree with you.
I'm not sure about this idea of buying tickets for others. How can that be fair? You are only depriving people who are higher up the pecking order who want to see the game as much as you do.
