Morning Everyone, We have an artists impression of our next Manager, and here it is.................. please log in to view this image Thats right folks; Brian McDermott is set to be named Manager of Leeds Utd. Having held talks with trhe Leeds hiarachy over the last couple of days, and not been scared off, McDermott is expected to work with Redfearn and Naylor as soon as Friday in preperation for Saturdays local derby with Sheffield Wednesday. Is McDernott the man to steady to the ol HMS LUFC, and guide her to safety? Is he prepared to rebuild from scratch? Has he been promised a big transfer kitty? Was anyone hoping fopr a bigger name?
I know pal. Wonder how much he has been offered? If he had a 10m kitty, you never know!!! You should change your user name again, Habibou is not doin it for me...
Morning all. Great appointment and absolutely as good as we could hope for. Rubbish about dimatteo etc. As for 10m Elland, get real, he wont get that over five seasons. However, given finances will probably continue to be crap, I think he'll do a better job than most with what hell have at his disposal. Age profile is good too. Relatively young for a manager. Must be given three years though for a near complete rebuild of the squad
Morning all. Fantastic appointment, won't be scared to use the Academy prospects, expect Leeds to play with more energy and pace. Get in!!
How about we'll never replace kisnorbo Happy with McDermott. Best of the lot on a budget I suppose. My one worry is he was Reading through and through so knew the club inside and out. Lets just hope he can do the same with us. Mooooorning all
If confirmed, not too bad a choice. Looking forward to Leeds v Reading next season. One of those occasions when both sets of fans give the Manager a warm welcome. Doubt he'll have Millions to spend, but if we're to build a solid foundation from which to grow, a few new players would be useful, move on those that won't form part of McDermott's longer term plans, & get a few of the kids in for the reainder of the season.
Morning All, I'm beginning to learn my place, so if it's McDermott, so be it. Supporters support ....
A healthy win on Saturday by players keen to show the new man why they should be retained would be a good start.
So it looks like it is McDermott. Not a bad appointment given the dross that has been suggested as an alternative. He's an enlightened man who likes to bring young players through and play fast, skillful football. So basically the opposite of Warnock. It's notable though that he has a reputation for working miracles with no money, which doesn't bode well for the future. His first task must surely be to ship out as much of Warnock's crap as possible whilst getting the squad much fitter (it's not surprise that we keep conceding late goals when you look at how fat the likes of Kenny and Austin are). On the plus side he will probably look to fast track some of the youth team and get us playing attractive football. I think the fans will give him a fair hearing too. And, with Redfearn no longer in charge, we might just avoid relegation.
JW Austin is deffo not fat and one of the quickest and fittest in the team. Shame hes not very good lol
Its wierd because Austin is a really slow accelerator but once he gets going he just runs through everything and is deceivingly quick
